Astronaut Buzz Aldrin marries longtime love on 93rd birthday
Astronaut Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin announced on Facebook that he has married his “longtime love” in a small ceremony in Los Angeles.
Aldrin, who made history along with Neil Armstrong as the first humans to set foot on the surface of the moon, said the wedding took place on Friday (January 20, 2023), which was his 93rd birthday.

“I am pleased to announce that my longtime love and partner, Dr. Anca V Faur, and I have tied the knot. We were joined in holy matrimony in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles, and are as excited as eloping teenagers,” he wrote.
The post received 53,000 Facebook “likes” and “loves” by Saturday and was accompanied by several photos of the newlyweds.
On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 astronauts Armstrong and Aldrin made their historic walk on the lunar surface, fulfilling a vow by the late President John F. Kennedy to send a manned crew to the moon and safely return them to Earth. Michael Collins was the third member of the crew.

4th-grader killed in Dhaka road crash while returning from sister's wedding
A fourth-grader, who peeped out of the window of a bus, was killed in the capital's Hazaribagh Wednesday afternoon after he was hit by a covered van.
The deceased Sayeed, 11, was from Cumilla's Homna.
The accident occurred at Pilkhana Gate 1, while the 11-year-old was returning to his village home along with his family members after attending the wedding reception of his elder sister.

The critically injured Sayeed was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he was declared dead around 7:30pm, Md Bachhu Miah, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost, said.
The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.

Youth stabbed on eve of wedding in Shariatpur: Accused injured in mob beating
An 18-year-old girl was stabbed to death by a youth in Shariatpur sadar upazila on Saturday, a day before her wedding and the accused was injured in a mob beating.
The deceased was identified as Kakoli, 18, a student of class 11 in Shariatpur Sadar Alia Madrasa, and daughter of Nuruzzaman Madbor of Char Palong village in the upazila.
She succumbed to her injuries around 3 am Sunday at a private hospital in the capital’s Dhanmondi area, said the family.

Meanwhile accused Zahidul Islam, 18, former student of the same Madrasah of Kakoli and son of Mujibur Rahman of Kashabhog union was admitted to Dhaka Medical Hospital on Saturday night after he got brutally beaten by the locals after the incident.
Kakoli was talking to her would be husband on phone in her house when Zahidul entered the house through a window and took her behind the house.
There he stabbed her neck with a knife and hearing her cry Kakoli’s family members nabbed Zahidul. Locals locked him up in a room after beating.

Aktar Hossain, officer-in-Charge of Palong police station said the body was handed over to the family after an autopsy.
He said a murder case will be filed under section 302 of penal code following the complaint lodged by victim’s brother Faruk Hossain on Saturday night.

Actress Tasnuva Tisha to tie the knot on Feb 2
Actress Tasnuva Tisha has announced she will be tying the knot on February 2 with her fiance Syed Asker
On Saturday, the actress got engaged with her long time partner at her house in Banasree in presence of both the families.
Tasnuva said they will officially register their marriage at first in presence of family members and some close people. Later in the same month they are planning to arrange the wedding ceremony and invite all.

Syed Asker is owner of an event management firm.
Tasnuva and Asker knew each other from 2020. Eventually their friendship grew into love and they decided to tie the knot, said Tasnuva.
“I was anxious about Asker’s family’s reaction at first regarding the marriage but they were very positive about everything,” said Tasnuva.

In 2014, actress Tasnuva Tisha married Farzanul Haque. After four years they got separated. Tasnuva and Farzanul are parents of a son and a daughter.

Man found dead on the day of his wedding
A man who went missing a day before his wedding ceremony was found dead on Friday afternoon in a forest in Gazipur.
The man was identified as Shariful, an auto rickshaw driver.

It was learned that his marriage ceremony was set to be held this morning but he had been missing since last night. And in the afternoon Kaliakoir police found his headless body in the Gajari forest area.
Police officials did not comment on the incident.

However, the family of the deceased demanded that police investigate the murder. They suspected it as work of a member of bride’s family, but did not name any one.
A CID team also visited the spot and conducted a primary investigation.

Wedding bells for Bollywood actor Rajkumar Rao
The love story of Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao and his long-time Bengali girlfriend Patralekha Paul is straight out of a Hindi movie.
Some 10 years ago, Rajkumar saw actress Patralekha's photo in an advertisement and decided to marry her. They later met at an event in Mumbai and fell in love.

A decade on, the two are tying the knot this week, after being in a live-in relationship.
The low-key, three-day-long wedding ceremony in the northern Indian city of Chandigarh, 250km from Delhi, begins on Wednesday evening, media reports said.
"It is going to be a very close affair for Rajkummar Rao, 37, and Patralekhaa, 32. They have invited only select guests from the film industry," a unnamed source was quoted by the media as saying.
A versatile actor, Rajkumar made his Bollywood debut with Dibakar Banerjee's film 'Love Sex Aur Dhokha' in 2010. After a few supporting roles in a couple of films, he made a mark in the film industry with his acting in social drama 'Kai Po Che!' in 2013.
He got the coveted National Film Award with his portrayal of the late human rights activist Shahid Azmi in biopic 'Shahid' in 2013. Rajkumar also acted in hits like 'Queen' in 2014 and 'Trapped' in 2016.

On the other hand, Patralekha, a Bengali born in the northeastern Indian state of Meghalaya's capital Shillong, made her debut with director Hansal Mehta's film 'CityLights', opposite Rajkummar.
