Asian Archery: Bangladesh reach recurve mixed final for first time
Bangladesh mixed team reached the recurve mixed team event final of the Teer 22nd Asian Archery Championship eliminating India by 5-4 sets in tie breaker at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Banani on Tuesday.
Bangladesh team comprises Hakim Ahmed Rubel and Diya Siddiqui reached the event’s final for the first time eliminating their Indian rivals by 20-19 score in a fate deciding shoot-off after the event’s semifinal between them ended in 4-4 draw.
In the event’s final on Friday (Nov 19), Bangladesh will play Korea for their dream gold.

Earlier, Bangladesh team reached the semifinal eliminating Iran by 6-2 set points in the quarterfinal
In the recurve men’s team, Bangladesh team consisting of Ruman Shana, Hakim Ahmed Rubel and Ram Krishna Saha were eliminated from the semifinals losing to India in tie breaker after the match was locked in 4-4 draw.
Earlier, Bangladesh team advanced to the quarterfinal after getting a bye and reached the semifinal beating Uzbekistan by 6-0 set points in the quarterfinal.
In the recurve women’s team, Bangladesh team studded with Diya Siddiqui, Beauty Roy and Nasrin Akter were eliminated from the semifinal stage losing to Korean team by 0-6 sets points after beating Uzbekistan by 5-3 sets points in the quarterfinal.

In the compound men’s team, Bangladesh exited from semifinal losing to Korea by 235-228 score while Bangladesh mixed team eliminated from quarterfinal losing to Iran by 154-157.
In the compound women’s team, Bangladesh made their early exit losing to Iran by 226-227 in the quarterfinal.

Teer 22nd Asian Archery Championship begins here Saturday
The Teer 22nd Asian Archery Championship’ 2021, organized by Bangladesh Archery Federation (BAF), began here on Saturday at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Banani.
Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Syed Shahed Reza inaugurated the weeklong continental meet.
Executive Director of the meet’s sponsor City Group (Teer) Zafaruddin Siddiqui was the special guest on the occasion.

Secretary General of World Archery Federation Tommy Rene Josephine and Secretary General of World Archery Asia Kyu Hyung Han (Thomas) were also present at the function.
Some 187 archers and officials from 16 counties, including 15 archers from hosts Bangladesh, are taking part in 10 events of the meet, sponsored by City Group (Teer).
Ten events are: recurve men’s team, recurve women’s team. recurve men’s singles, recurve women’s singles, recurve mixed team, compound men’s team, compound women’s team, compound men’s singles, compound women’s singles and compound mixed team.
