Man hacked to death over extramarital affair in Rangpur
A 38-year-old man was allegedly hacked to death over an extramarital affair in Pirganj upazila of Rangpur on Sunday night, said police.
The deceased Mostafizur Rahman Chengtu was son of late Boyes Prodhan at Aga Chatra village in Chatra union of the upazila. He was a farmer by profession.

Police and locals said Chengtu was in an extramarital relationship with Rowshan Ara Begum, wife of one Rustam Ali of the same village, for the past few years. A rivalry was prevailing between them over the matter.
Rustam took position under a banyan tree in the village on Sunday night and hacked Chengtu with sharp weapons after intercepting him on his way home from a local market, they said.

Chengtu was left critically injured and rushed to Upazila Health Complex by locals where he succumbed to his injuries around 11:15pm.
Anwarul Islam, officer-in-charge of Pirganj Police Station, said the victim’s son Sajib Mia filed a murder case on Monday morning.

Though the accused is now on the run, they were trying to arrest him, the OC added.

Youth’s wrists slit over extramarital affair in Narsingdi
A relative of a 25-year-old young man allegedly slit his wrists over an extramarital affair with his aunt at Noakanda in Palash upazila of Narsingdi district.
The victim was identified as Hadiul Mia, son of Morshed Mia of Shibpur upazila of the district.
Md Elias, officer-in-charge of Palash Police Station, said Hadiul developed an extra marital affair with his aunt.

When the families of Hadiul and his aunt came to know of their relationship, they often got into arguments.
Jalal Mia, brother-in-law of Hadiul’s aunt, did not take the matter easily and he called Hadiul at his home promising to give him a job on Monday evening.
When Hadiul took the bait, Jalal took Hadiul to an abandoned place, slit his wrists and fled the scene.
Hearing Hadiul's cries, locals people rescued him and took him to Narsingdi District Hospital from where he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.

Father’s extramarital affair led to killing of 5-yr old daughter: Rab
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) have arrested a man and his four associates from the city for ‘killing’ his own daughter over his alleged extramarital affair in Debidwar upazila of Cumilla.
The arrestees are victim’s father Md Amir Hossain, 25, Laili Akter, 30, Md Rabiul Awal, 19, Md Rezaul Islam Emon, 22, and Md Sohel Rana, 27. All of them are from Cumilla’s Debidwar upazila.

According to a media release of Rab Headquarters, a team of Rab-11 arrested them conducting a drive in the capital’s Jatrabari area on Tuesday night.
Five-year-old Fahima went missing on November 7 and her father Amir filed a general diary (GD) in this regard on November 11, prompting detectives to launch an investigation, the release said.
Later, police recovered Fahima’s body packed in a sack from a waterbody in Debidwar upazila on Sunday. On the same day, a case was filed against unidentified people at Debidwar Police Station.
During primary investigation, all the arrestees confessed to their involvement in the murder, said Rab.

Amir and Laila stabbed Fahima to death and dumped the body with the help of three others when the girl came to about the illicit relationship between them, it said.
Legal process is underway in this regard, the release added.
