Dhaka court rejects father’s petition; Japanese mother gets custody of 2 daughters
A Dhaka court on Sunday upheld the order of the family court that gave Japanese mother Nakano Eriko the custody of her two daughters.Dhaka District Judge AHM Habibur Rahman Bhuiya upheld the family court order after rejecting the appeal filed by the Bangladesh-born US citizen Imran Sharif, father of the two children.Advocate Sishir Monir stood for the Japanese mother while Advocate Nasima Akter Lovely for Imran.

So, the two children are going to stay with their mother, and she can also take her daughters to Japan.The two children are not allowed to go abroad until the case is settled, said Advocate Nasima.

Family court awards custody of daughters to Japanese mother
The two children of Bangladesh-born US citizen Imran Sharif and Japanese mother Nakano Eriko will stay with their mother, a family court said in its judgment on Sunday.
Durdana Rahman, judge of Dhaka's Second Additional Assistant Judge and Family Court passed the order.
Shishir Monir, lawyer of the Japanese mother Nakano Eriko, said the court dismissed the case filed by Imran Sharif to keep his two children in his custody. So, the two children are going to stay with their mother, and she can also take her daughters to Japan.
The court said it gave this order, focusing on the wellbeing of the two children.
The judge said that the place of residence of the two minor children is Japan and their mother is a Japanese doctor.
Therefore, they will have physical and mental safety if they stay with their mother.
Meanwhile, Japanese mother Nakano Eriko and her elder daughter Nakano Jasmine Malika expressed their satisfaction after hearing the verdict.

However, Imran Sharif's lawyer Nasima Akhter Lovely said they will appeal against the order.

2 Japan-born girls to stay with Japanese mother till January 23: SC
The Appellate Division on Monday ruled that the two children of Bangladesh-born US citizen Imran Sharif and Japanese mother Nakano Erico will stay with their mother till January 23.
A three-member full bench of the Appellate Division, headed by Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique, passed the order following a petition filed by Erico challenging a High Court order.
The court said their father Imran Sharif, can visit his daughters between 9am and 9pm every day during this period.

Advocate Ahsanul Karim and Advocate Shishir Monir appeared for Erico while Lawyer Fawzia Karim Firoze for Imran Sharif.
On November 21, the HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman ruled that the Japan-born daughters of Imran and Erico will stay with their father.
However, the mother can exclusively meet the daughters, aged 11 and 10, three times a year for 10 days at a time and Imran, the father, will bear her travel and accommodation expenses, said the court.
If Erico wants to meet her children beyond the court-prescribed time she has to do it at her own expenses, the court said.
Imran was also instructed to allow the children to talk to their mother on video calls twice a month on holidays.
Following the writ petition, the High Court also ordered Imran to give Tk 10 lakh to Erico for the expenses she incurred to travel to Dhaka and stay here for seven days.
The concerned social service officer was directed to continue monitoring the development regarding the children and submit a report to the Registrar of the High Court on the issue of children every three months.
However, the high court rejected the writ petition filed by Imran seeking order to produce their third and youngest daughter, who is in Japan.

The High Court on Sunday ruled that the two children of Bangladeshi-born US citizen Imran Sharif and Japanese mother Nakano Erico will stay with their father.
Mother Eriko can exclusively meet the daughters, aged 11 and 10, three times a year for 10 days at a time and Imran will bear her travel and accommodation expenses, said the court.
The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman delivered the ruling until a writ petition by the mother is fully disposed.
If Eriko wants to meet her children beyond the court-prescribed time she has do it at her own expenses, the court said.
