Eight people killed in microbus-truck collision in Natore

At least eight people including five women were killed in a head-on collision between a microbus and a truck on Bonpara-Hatikumrul Highway in Baraigram upazila of Natore district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Zahidul Islam, his wife Shelly Begum, sister-in-law Ety Begum, Shima Khatun, Anwara Begum Anu, Anjuman Ara and Anna Khatun and microbus driver Shahab Uddin.
All of them hailed from Dharmadah village in Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia district.
The accident occurred around 10:30am when the Dhaka-bound microbus from Natore crashed into the truck in Sirampur Araimari Bridge area, leaving five dead on the spot and three others, including the microbus driver, injured, said Ismail Hossain, officer-in-charge of Bonpara Highway Police Station.
Among the injured, another victim died on way to a local hospital while the microbus driver Sahab and Shima succumbed to their injuries at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital as both were sent to the hospital following deterioration of their condition.
They met the tragic accident while returning to Enayetpur of Sirajganj district from Kushtia after visiting one of their ailing relatives.

Microbus-truck collision leaves 3 children dead in Sunamganj
Three children were killed and eight others injured as a microbus collided with a truck on Sunamganj-Sylhet road in Shantiganj upazila of Sunamganj district on Sunday night.
The deceased were identified as Khokon Das, 2, son of Putul Das, Niloy Das, 9, son of Samiron Das and Pronab Chandra, 8, son of Lipu Chandra, of Kolkoliya union of Jagannathpur upazila.

Witnesses said the accident occurred when the microbus carrying a bridal party crashed into the stationary truck around 8 pm, leaving 11 microbus passengers injured.
The injured children were rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where doctors declared them dead, said Kazi Muktadir Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Shantiganj police station.
