State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque on Wednesday said that the government has a plan to bring national-level athletes under a structured salary framework. “The current government is planning to improve athletes’ living standards and ensure their future security and to bring national-level athletes under a structured salary framework. It is working to establish sports as a respectable profession,” he said. Mentioning that not all federations in the country are financially solvent, the state minister urged the banks and financial institutions to remain involved with different sporting disciplines and become integral partners in the sports arena through regular sponsorship.
