Narail: Gallows for one, life term for 3 in farmer's murder case
A local court on Tuesday sentenced a man to death and three others to life imprisonment for killing a farmer in Bhabanipur village of Narail Sadar upazila in 2016.
District and sessions judge Munshi Moshiar Rahman also imposed a fine of Tk 50,000 on each of the convicts. The one sentenced to death has been identified as Jaminur Rahman Mollah of the village.

According to the case statement, Mofi Sheikh, the farmer, was returning home in Bhabanipur village with his minor son after collecting the child's stipend from school on July 18, 2016, when the trio killed him with a sharp weapon.
Later, the victim’s wife Rexona Khatun filed a complaint at Narail Sadar police station.

Based on the complaint, an FIR was lodged by the police against six people. Two of the accused were acquitted during the trial.
