The women's team of Bangladesh has qualified for the final of the SAFF U19 Women's Championship 2021. The reigning champion Bangladesh U19 Women's team will be looking to defend their title. On the other side, the Indian team will be vying for their first championship. Bangladesh U19 Women’s Team vs India U19 Women’s Team: Road to Final
The Bangladesh U19 Women's team began their SAFF Championship campaign with a 0-0 draw against Nepal on December 11. Two days later, they defeated Bhutan 6-0, with Tohura and Ripa both scoring twice. The third match for Bangladesh was against a powerful Indian team. They won that match owing to Shamsunnahar's sole goal in the seventh minute. The Bangladesh Women's team crushed the Sri Lankan side 12-0 in their last group stage encounter, securing their spot in the final. Saheda and Afeida both scored hat-tricks in the contest.
Meanwhile, the Indian U19 Women's side started their campaign with a 5-0 victory over Sri Lanka. India defeated Bhutan 3-0 in the second match but fell 1-0 to Bangladesh in the third encounter. Therefore, the match between India and Nepal was a must-win for both teams, which India won 1-0 and progressed to the final.
