Global Covid-19 cases near 678 million
The overall number of Covid-19 cases in the world is now approaching 678 million.
According to the latest global data, the total Covid-19 case count amounted to 677,724,407 while the death toll from the virus reached 6,783,338 this morning (February 14, 2023).
The US has reported 104,787,053 Covid-19 cases so far, while 1,140,209 people have died from the virus in the country — both highest counts globally.
India reported 82 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours, the union health ministry data showed on Monday. While active cases declined to 1,837, the total number of cases has reached 44.7 million so far.

Meanwhile, France has registered 39,565,489 Covid-19 cases so far, occupying the third position in the world number-wise, while 164,587 people have died in the country, as per Worldometer.
Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh
Bangladesh reported one more Covid-linked death and 9 cases in the 24 hours till Monday morning.
With the new numbers, the country's total fatalities rose to 29,445 and caseload to 2,037,688, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The daily Covid-19 test positivity rate increased to 0.45 percent from Sunday's 0.28 as 2,022 samples were tested.

Covid-19: Positivity rate rises to 11.03%, One more dies
Bangladesh registered one Covid-linked death day with 874 fresh cases in 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
This is the second Covid-linked death of the current month.

The daily-case positivity rate rose to 11.03 per cent from Monday’s 10.87 per cent as 7,893 samples were tested during the period.
The country’s total caseload rose to 1,958,074 while the total fatalities reached 29,133 with the new numbers, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The deceased was a man, aged 71-80, hailing from Dhaka division.
The mortality rate remained static at 1.49 per cent. The recovery rates declined to 97.34 per cent from Monday’s 97.38 per cent as 84 patients recovered during this period.
On Monday, the country logged the first Covid-linked death in the current month with 873 cases. The previous death was recorded on May 30.
In May, the country reported only four Covid-linked deaths and 816 new cases, while 7,356 patients recovered from the disease, according to the DGHS.
Among the four deaths during the period, one was vaccinated with single dose of Covid vaccine while three were vaccinated with two doses.

Covid-19: Bangladesh reports one death, 134 new cases
Bangladesh reported one more Covid-linked death with 134 fresh cases in 24 hours till Wednesday morning.
On Tuesday, the country reported 121 fresh cases with no death.
The country reported first zero Covid-related death in a single day on November 20 last year along with 178 infections since the pandemic broke out in Bangladesh in March 2020.

The daily positivity rate rose a bit to 1.27 per cent from Tuesday’s 1.11 per cent after testing 10,571 samples during the period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The lone death was reported from Dhaka Division and the deceased was a woman, aged between 51-60.
With the latest numbers, the country’s total fatalities mounted to 29,118 while the caseload to 19,50,980.
Besides, the mortality rate remained unchanged too at 1.49 per cent.

The recovery rate rose to 96.04 per cent with the recovery of 921 more patients during the 24-hour period.

Bangladesh sees zero Covid death for 3rd straight day
No Covid-related death was recorded in Bangladesh in 24 hours till Thursday morning.
With this, the country witnessed zero Covid death for the third consecutive day.
On Tuesday, the country logged zero Covid-related death after more than three months.
Besides, 233 more infections were reported during the 24-hour period.

Covid-linked death down to one in Bangladesh, 239 more infected
Bangladesh reported one more Covid-linked death with 239 fresh cases in 24 hours till Monday morning, health authorities said.
The new deceased was a man from Chattogram division.
The daily positivity rate declined to 1.75 per cent from Sunday’s 1.88 per cent after testing 13,667 samples during the period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The fatalities on Monday were lower than Friday that witnessed three more Covid-linked deaths with 233 fresh cases

The latest numbers took the country’s total fatalities to 29,112 while the caseload to 19,49,725.
Of the 26 deaths recorded from March 7 to March 13 some 57.7 per cent received Covid vaccines while 42.3 percent did not, the DGHS mentioned.
Comorbidities among the deceased patients decreased by 5.8 per cent this week compared to the previous one. Comorbidity means the simultaneous presence of two or more diseases or medical conditions in a patient.
Meanwhile, the mortality rate remained unchanged at 1.49 per cent.
The recovery rate rose to 95.54 per cent with the recovery of 1,922 more patients during the 24-hour period.

Bangladesh reported one more Covid-linked death with 323 fresh cases in 24 hours till Wednesday morning.
The daily positivity rate declined to 1.97 per cent from Tuesday’s 2.23 per cent after testing 16,225 samples during the period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
On Tuesday, Bangladesh reported seven more Covid-linked deaths with 446 fresh cases.

The fresh numbers took the country’s total fatalities to 29,097 while the caseload to 19, 48,471.
The only death was reported from Sylhet division.

Another dies in Bangladesh from Covid, 397 cases reported
Bangladesh logged another Covid-linked death with 397 fresh infections in 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
With the detection of the fresh cases after testing 18, 941 samples, the daily-case positivity rate slightly declined to 2.10 per cent from Monday’s 2.16 per cent during the period, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The latest deceased, hailing from Dhaka division, was a woman in her 60s.
The fresh numbers reported on Tuesday took the country’s total fatalities to 28,062 while the caseload mounted to 15,84,023.
Meanwhile, the mortality rate remained static at 1.77 per cent during the period.
Besides, the recovery rate remained static at 97.73 per cent with the recovery of 294 more patients during the 24-hour period.
On Monday, Bangladesh logged only one Covid-linked death and 373 fresh infections in 24 hours.
Though the deaths remained below five since December 13, the daily cases remained mostly over 250, according to data provided by the DGHS.

Covid positivity rate in Bangladesh rises to 1.87%
Bangladesh reported one more Covid-linked death and 352 fresh cases in 24 hours till Wednesday morning.
The detection of the new cases after testing 18,938 samples took the daily-case positivity rate to 1.87 per cent during the period, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The positivity rate was 1.39 per cent with 291 fresh cases being reported on Tuesday.
