After the match, the old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj advanced to the 8th slot securing seven points from seven outings while the freedom fighters team Muktijoddha SKC remained at bottom with three points from seven encounters.

Will Jacks of England and Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman have ended the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2022 with the most runs and wickets respectively.  Jacks’ BPL ended in the qualifier while Mustafizur ended up being one of the members of the champions Comilla Victorians. In the last two overs, Barishal needed 16 runs, but they fell short of one run. In the 19th over, Mustafizur Rahman conceded only six runs and bagged one wicket.  In the last over, Shohidul Islam defended nine runs despite a wide ball and a dropped catch by Tanvir Islam. Five of the last six balls were played by Towhid who scored only five runs.  Before the last two overs by Mustafizur and Shohidul, Sunil Narine gave only two runs off the 18th over which made the finishing tough for Barishal. They never were able to come up from that damage done by Narine.  While chasing a challenging target of 152 runs, Barishal failed to have a good start as they lost Munim Shariar for a duck. The right-handed batter has done well in previous games. However, in the second wicket stand, Chris Gayle and Shykat Ali posted 74 runs, which set a great foundation for the Fortune Barishal. Shykat, who was playing only the fourth match in this BPL, hit a 26-ball fifty. He ended up on 58 with 11 fours and one six.  After Shykat’s removal, Nurul Hasan joined Gayle in the crease but failed to prove his mettle once again scoring only 14. In the final of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Comilla Victorians posted 151 for nine against Fortune Barishal on Friday at Mirpur.  Sunil Narine hit 57 off 23 with five fours and five sixes while Moeen Ali scored 38 off 32 for the Victorians. Comilla Victorians, the two-time winner of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), is 149 runs away from the final of the ongoing edition of the Bangabandhu BPL.  They restricted Chattogram Challengers to 148 for 10 in 19.1 overs in the second Qualifier of the BPL on Wednesday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.  Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the highest runs getter for Chattogram with his 38 from 44 balls with three fours and two sixes while Akbar Ali posted 33 off 20 balls with two fours and two sixes. Fortune Barishal defended a moderate total of 143 to storm to the final of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) beating Comilla Victorians by 10 runs on Monday.  Comilla will now take on Chattogram Challengers on February 16 in the second Qualifier. Chattogram defeated Khulna Tigers in the Eliminator.  While chasing 143, Comilla failed to finish well. They needed 22 off the last 12 balls, but they fell short of 10 runs despite having six wickets in hand. Off the 19th over, Mehedi Hasan Rana conceded only four runs and picked up one wicket.  In the last over, Mujeeb Ur Rahman conceded seven runs and picked up two wickets, and Barishal sealed the match.  Comilla had a 62-run opening stand by Liton Das and Mahmudul Hasan Joy. Despite having this good foundation, they failed to carry on the good run. Any one of these two needed to stay in the middle and finish it off, but they couldn't. In the league phase, Barishal took on Comilla twice and won one with losing the other match. If Comilla can beat Chattogram in the second Qualifier now, they will have a great chance to lift the BPL title for the third time.
