OnePlus has long abandoned its flagship killer approach to smartphones. Their latest and greatest phone OnePlus 10 comes in the backdrop of the company’s merger with Oppo. The OnePlus 10 Pro was released on January 13th exclusively for the Chinese market for the time being. With the decked-out specs, Hasselblad collaboration, and an eye-catching design, there is a lot to get excited about this new phone. Key Features of OnePlus 10 Pro  Design and Build Quality The first thing that comes to mind with the new OnePlus 10 Pro design is that it is almost a Samsung Galaxy S21 but not quite. Interestingly, the device shares a number of elements with last year’s Samsung flagship. And as it would turn out, that’s not a bad thing. The camera module creates a bump that is flush with the sides. It gives the device a somewhat asymmetric look but the quad sensor alignment makes it pleasing for the eyes. The panel used in the OnePlus 10 Pro is an LTPO2 AMOLED panel. This top-of-the-line display is crisp, vivid and a pleasure to look at. The LTPO2 technology enables the display to support up to 1B colors. This superfluous display also has a standard 500 nits brightness with a max brightness of 800 nits. However, the display can crank up to 1300 nits depending on the situation. The viewing angles of the device are excellent considering the phone has a curved display. OnePlus has indeed knocked it out of the park with the display. Camera The OnePlus x Hasselblad collaboration first saw light with the OnePlus 9 Pro. The camera giant worked with the color calibration of the sensors to bring more dynamic and truer to life colors to the photos. The same technology has been implemented in the OnePlus 10 Pro as well. The triple sensor camera module has a 48 MP standard 23 mm wide-angle shooter. The main sensor is decked with features like f/1.8. omnidirectional PDAF, OIS, and laser AF. There is also an 8 MP telephoto lens and a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle shooter. The back camera module has a long Hasselblad brand name printed on the side that the same technology from the 9 Pro has been carried forward here. The pictures came out crisp and sharp in outdoor conditions. However, the most noticeable improvement is seen in the dynamic range. The pictures can be calibrated to either cool or warm tones depending on preference. The ultra-wide-angle can now capture a great range without inducing the fisheye lens effect. The phone performs well at night and has artificial lighting as well. Then comes the dedicated night mode on this camera. OnePlus was one of the first companies to bring night mode in-camera which uses long exposure to make dark photos bright and sharp. Needless to say, the 10 Pro simply takes the night photography further with the updated night mode calibration. Processor and Performance The OnePlus 10 Pro is equipped with the latest chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1. This is the latest flagship chipset from Qualcomm which is built on the 4 nm structure. The processor utilizes an octa-core setup in 1 3.00 GHz Cortex-X2 and 3 2.50 GHz Cortex-A710 with 4 1.80 GHz Cortex-A510 order. This allows for an insane performance at a fraction of power consumption. The 4 nm architecture has been a large leap in power management for flagship devices. However, the only possible downside of this phone happens to be in the OS. OnePlus thus far has had the Oxygen Os which has been one of the most popular android skins. Some even presumed it to be better than the original stock android. But all of that changed with the Oppo merger. The oxygen Os on the 10 Pro has been replaced by Color Os 12.1 based on Android 12. Now Color Os is not entirely bad, but it's miles away from Oxygen Os. People upgrading from previous OnePlus devices might have a hard time making the transition. Battery and Charge Time OnePlus has opted for a 5000 mAh battery with the 10 Pro, a welcome upgrade from the 9 Pro. The large battery is complemented by 80W proprietary fast charging which makes charging a lot easier. And if fast wired charging wasn’t enough, OnePlus even introduced a fast 50W wireless charging, a first of its kind. However, going by the Chinese price of 5,569 CNY, expect the Bangladeshi pricing to be at least over 80,000 BDT initially. Verdict To wrap things up, the OnePlus 10 Pro ticks a lot of the boxes. Though the device is a slight increment from the 9 Pro, it brings a fresh design concept with some significant camera improvement. The 8 Gen 1 processor, lighting fast performance and charge speed are sure to nudge any fan of the OEM brand. But the new Os does cast a few shadows on an otherwise top-notch device from OnePlus.
