The league stage of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League came to an end on Saturday (February 12). The first phase produced some exciting matches, and four teams have progressed to the next round. Fortune Barishal, Comilla Victorians, Chattogram Challengers, and Khulna Tigers are the qualified teams. One of the tournament's favorites, Minister Dhaka did not proceed to the knockout round. BPL 2022 League Phase's Final Points Standings Four teams out of six have qualified for the playoffs in the eighth season of the Bangladesh Premier League. Let's take a look at each team's final standings in the points table. Fortune Barishal (1)  Performance in the League Phase: Win 7 | Lose: 2 | Points: 15 | NRR: 0.244  Fortune Barishal finished first in the points table after winning seven of their nine matches. One match had to be called off due to adverse weather. Fortune Barishal have gone undefeated in their last six games, losing only to Comilla Victorians and Minister Dhaka in the league phase. One of Comilla's matches had to be canceled due to inclement weather. Comilla Victorians lost against Khulna Tigers, Fortune Barishal, and Minister Dhaka in the league phase. Chattogram Challengers (3)  Performance in the League Phase: Win 5 | Lose: 5 | Points: 10 | NRR: -0.109    Chattogram Challengers had a strong start to the BPL 2022 campaign, but they faded in the Chattogram phase. The Challengers had to wait until their final league match against the Sylhet Sunrisers to qualify for the playoffs. They finished third in the standings with five victories out of ten. Like the Chattogram Challengers, the Khulna Tigers had to wait until their last league phase match against Comilla Victorians to qualify for the playoffs. With 5 victories, Khulna finished fourth in the standings. Chattogram finished ahead of Khulna in the points table due to better run rates. Minister Dhaka (5)  Performance in the League Phase: Win 4 | Lose: 5 | Points: 9 | NRR: -0.003     Minister Dhaka were in a strong position in the points table at the completion of the third phase. However, they squandered their chances by losing their last two of three league stage fixtures against Chattogram Challengers and Fortune Barishal. They finished fifth in the BPL season 8 league stage standings with 9 points. They just won one match and lost eight during the league stage. Also, one of their matches was canceled due to bad weather. Sylhet Sunrisers finished the eighth season of the Bangladesh Premier League in the bottom position, with only three points. Fixtures for the BPL 2022 Playoffs The top team in the points table, Fortune Barishal will face the second-placed Comilla Victorians on Monday evening in the first qualifier. The winner of this match will advance to the BPL season 8 final. The third-placed Chattogram Challengers will face the fourth-placed Khulna Tigers in an elimination match on Monday afternoon. The winner of the eliminator will meet the loser of qualifier 1 in the second qualifying match on Wednesday (February 16). The winner of the second qualifier will play on Friday's (February 18) BPL 2022 championship match. Therefore, team Dhaka's failure to qualify for the playoffs is one of the biggest surprises in the eighth season of the Bangladesh Premier League. Fortune Barishal and Comilla Victorians will remain favorites, and the tournament's eventual winner is expected to be one of these two teams. The Chattogram Challengers and Khulna Tigers will have to perform better in the elimination stage if they want to advance to the final. Thus, the BPL 2022 Playoffs promise to be exciting.
