Van driver electrocuted in Chandpur
A van driver was electrocuted to death at Madhya Bazar area of Haziganj upazila in Chandpur district on Saturday afternoon.The deceased Abdul Motin, 52, a resident of Randhunimura village in Hajiganj municipality.

Thakurgaon van driver's daughter cracks MBBS test, but father has no money for fees
Born to a family of a poor van driver in Thakurgaon, Alpana faced difficult times growing up. Braving all odds though, she managed to crack this year's MBBS admission test.
But the teenager's struggles are unlikely to end soon as her father, Aftabar Rahman, has expressed his inability to fund her medical education -- literally a luxury for even the middle-class in Bangladesh.
"I want to pursue my dream without putting any pressure on my father, who's struggling to make both ends meet. Already, he has done a lot for me and my three siblings," Alpana, a resident of Dharia Belsara village in Baliadangi upazila, told UNB.

Van driver killed in city road crash
A van driver was killed as a speedy truck knocked him down while he was crossing a road at Malibagh in the city early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Md Mamun, 35, son of Abdul Jalil of Baufal upazila in Patuakhali district. He used to live in a rented house in Malibagh Chowdhurypara.

Quoting victims’ cousin Nasir Uddin, police said the accident occurred at around 11:30 pm on Friday when Mamun was crossing the road in front of Abul Hotel, leaving him injured.
Mamun was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 3:00 am on Saturday.
DMCH police camp in-charge Inspector Bachhu Mia said the body was sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
