OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G Review: Is it worth it?
Oppo's Reno series phones have struck all the right chords. And that seems to be the case once again with the company's current flagship, the Reno7 Pro released in China on 3rd December 2021. The phone looks and feels luxurious, and it also functions well. And when adding some quite powerful cameras to the mix, the phone appears to hold the good will of OPPO. This post will focus on the detailed review of OPPO Reno7 5G.
Key Features of OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G
Design
The design of the majority of OPPO's smartphones is excellent, and the Reno7 Pro is no exception. The Reno6 Pro came with a curved display that melded into a similarly curved back. This gave the phone a streamlined appearance and made it more pleasant to carry. This time around, OPPO chose flat edges for the Reno7 Pro. While the design is not novel, OPPO has done an excellent job of making the phone appear and feel amazing.

Numerous OEMs have recently embraced the flat-edge design, but OPPO has nailed it with the Reno7 Pro. The phone is not overly huge, which makes it more comfortable to handle, and the chamfered edges are not too sharp, which prevents the phone from biting into your palm. The metallic chassis has a luxurious feel to it and is capable of standing on its own when placed on a level surface.
Naturally, OPPO has also flattened up the phone's back and front to fit the overall look. Additionally, weight management has been done in such a manner that the phone seems light when used for lengthy periods of time. The Reno7 Pro currently has the best-feeling flat-edged Android phone.
Display
As previously stated, the display, along with the frame and back, has been flattened down on the Reno7 Pro. The Reno6 Pro had curved borders on both sides of the display. That has now been removed, leaving a flat display with a hole-punch cutout in the top-left corner.

It retains the same AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and 90Hz refresh rate as the Reno6 Pro. The colors are vibrant, and the viewing experience is on par with that of other premium smartphones equipped with OLED screens. The 6.55-inch display is reasonably sized, ensuring that the phone does not seem unwieldy to handle or operate. One criticism that some may have about this monitor is that its refresh rate is limited to 90Hz, whereas rivals in this price range offer 120Hz panels.
Rear Cameras
The Reno7 Pro's main 50MP camera captures images that are attractive to the eye in the majority of lighting settings. The colors and dynamic range both look fantastic in daylight. Natural bokeh is very beautiful when taking close-up images. The shots are often on the colder side, which some people enjoy, particularly those who want photographs with a greater contrast level.

Even in low-light circumstances, the phone's built-in Night Mode enables it to shoot high-quality images. Although there is a significant loss of quality and the white balance may get slightly off, Oppo has done well with the camera.
The ultra-wide lens falls short of the main camera's capability and is a disappointment. At this pricing, an 8MP sensor seems to be a cost-cutting tactic. In comparison to the main camera, the details are weak, and the colors seem drab. The third camera on the rear is a 2MP macro lens that serves no use.
Front Camera
Selfies shot with the 32 MP selfie camera appear sharp, with vivid colors and an excellent dynamic range. Skin tones are somewhat wrong due to the fact that it tends to brighten the face slightly, but not dramatically. Edge detection also looks fantastic in portrait mode. If you often snap selfies or create short-form content for social media, you'll like the OPPO Reno7 Pro's front-facing camera.

Performance and Software
There isn't much to discuss here since the OPPO Reno7 Pro employs the same Dimensity 1200 chipset as the Reno 6Pro. According to OPPO, the Reno7 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 Max SoC, which was created in collaboration with OPPO. However, there is no change in the way the CPU or GPU operates, and the CPU's clock rates are likewise the same. The sole difference between the Reno7 Pro and its predecessor as a consequence of this partnership between MediaTek and OPPO is that the Reno7 Pro displays better images on display, or so OPPO claims.
The Reno7 Pro has no trouble operating the wide variety of programs and games that you use on a daily basis. It performs like a flagship phone, which is exactly what you should expect from the phone. For those curious, BGMI can be played at 60 frames per second on the majority of occasions. Some delays from time to time can be noticed, particularly during hot drops. If you play more demanding games, such as Genshin Impact, you may experience occasional frame dips.

Battery and Charger
The Reno7 Pro has a 4,500mAh battery that is easily powered through our whole day of social media applications, surfing, snapping photographs, a 20-minute video conversation on Google Duo, and binge-watching. The phone is thin and light without sacrificing battery life.
When you run out of energy, the Reno7 Pro charges at 65W with the included charger. It takes around 35 minutes to be charged from 5% to 100%, which is rather astounding. Once again, these findings are identical to those obtained with the Reno6 Pro. There has been no change.

Conclusion
With its slim profile, attractive design, and rapid charging, the OPPO Reno7 Pro embodies the essence of the Reno series. The Orbit Breathing Light, the AI camera functions, and the gorgeous micro-etched rear panel are some features that play by the side of the phone. If you are not a dedicated mobile gamer and are looking for a smartphone with a strong camera and a sleek design, the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G is an excellent choice.
