Samsung Galaxy A53 5G: Leaks, Rumors, Probable Release Date, Expected Price
The A series from Samsung has been a mid-range go-to option for users for a long time. In recent times, the company has shifted to a more premium mid-range segment with their A-series, bringing in a few features from the flagship S line. The latest Galaxy A53 5G is expected to be revealed in the upcoming Samsung Awesome Unpacked event in March 2022. Here is everything that is known so far about the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G.
Leaked features of Samsung Galaxy A53 5G
All the rumored details here are obtained from a massive leak in Italy. The device appeared on one of the retailer's websites for a brief while. But that was enough to provide a complete glimpse of what is to be expected from Samsung.
Design and Build Quality
The A-series always had a toned-down appearance of the S series. The same story holds here as well. The exact build material of the device is not confirmed yet. But users can expect a front glass and back with stainless steel or aluminum frame combination.

The phone is expected to weigh around 190 g which further confirms the rumored material choice. At 8.1 mm thickness, the phone will be one of the slimmest from Samsung in recent times.
Moving on to the connectivity, users will get a choice of either a single sim or a hybrid dual sim option depending on the region. The phone is also slated to be IP67 water and dust-resistant. Even though the phone can survive 1 m underwater for 30 minutes on paper, it is not recommended to test the limit in any way.
There will be stereo speakers on the A53 5G like its predecessors. Unfortunately, headphone jacks won’t make any more comebacks on the A series Samsung devices. There will be a second generation of USB Type-C which will definitely aid in the fast charge and data transfer process.

The Display
Samsung has been the absolute leader in the display industry for decades now. Their display tech has trickled from the flagship lines to the mid-range to even the entry-level ones. The display on the A53 5G is rumored to be an FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The display is a slightly toned-down version of the S series. The choice here clearly shows that Samsung is going to market the A53 5G as a premium mid-range device.
The 6.64-inch display also provides some insight into the overall form factor of the device. The A53 5G is expected to have a bezel-less design so the overall dimension should be right around the display size.
The display itself is beautiful as ever. It can push a max brightness of up to 800 nits which is perfect for outdoor legibility. Beyond that, the display also supports HDR 10+ which is perfect for streaming HD content directly on the device.

The Camera
The camera has always been a prominent highlight of the A-series devices. Like most other features, the camera module is also a trickled-down version of their flagship lineup. The quad-camera setup will come with a 64 MP main sensor and a 12 MP ultrawide lens. The other two are a depth and macro sensor of 5 MP each.
The main two lenses are stacked as ever. Users will be getting PDAF as well as OIS as standard. Users will have to wait for the official launch of the device to get actual picture samples. However, the specs for the cameras look promising. The front features a 32 MP camera, the same that was seen on the A52.
The phone seems to be equally capable on the videography end. The video is slated to be 4K at 30 fps with 1080P at either 30 or 60 fps thanks to the gyro-EIS.

Processor and Performance
The Samsung A53 5G will come with Exynos 1200 chipset. The Exynos 1200 is equivalent to the Snapdragon 700 series. The chipset is an octa-core one with 2 2.4 GHz and 6 2.0 GHz configurations.
There isn't any real-life performance data available yet. However, the chipset is designed to be a fairly capable one. The single-core score of the Exynos 1200 is rated at 690 and multi-core at 1846. This gives some insight into the performance capabilities of this device.
Users should be able to breeze through almost anything without any sort of noticeable difference. The device may heat up a bit with continuous gaming but that is typical of Samsung. Overall, the performance should be more than enough even for a demanding user.

The OS here will be reprised by One UI. This time users will be getting One UI 4.0 based on Android 12. The One UI has slowly become a functional OS cutting out all of its bloatware. So previous Samsung owners as well as new users alike should not have any issue making the transition whatsoever.
Battery and Charge Time
The leaked spec sheet showed a standard 5000 mAh battery for the Samsung A53 5G. Given the previous performance record, users should get around 6 to 8 hours of continued usage with the device. In addition to that, the device will come with a 25W charger out of the box. The fast charger will be able to top up the device from zero to 100% in about an hour and 15 minutes.

The battery, design, and display are impeccable as ever and can rival the flagships of other companies. Samsung could have introduced their 108 MP sensor on the A-series but chose not to cut costs.
