Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has said the government will not interfere in the upcoming Chittagong City Corporation elections.

Jatiya Party contestant Solaiman Alam Sheth on Sunday withdrew from the mayoral race of the Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) elections scheduled for March 29.

Election to Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) and by-elections to Bogura-1 and Jashore -6 seat will be held on March 29.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda on Wednesday once again claimed that voters will be able to exercise their franchise properly if any election is held using electronic voting machines (EVMs).
