2 college students die in Meherpur road accident
Meherpur, Jan 08 (UNB) – Two college students died in a road accident on the Meherpur-Kushtia regional highway in Gangni upazila of Meherpur on Wednesday.
The accident happened when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a Rafraf Paribahan bus around 3:30 pm, said Gangni Police Station Officer-in-Charge Bani Israel.

The deceased were identified as Siam Hossain (18), son of Alek Hossain, a Saudi expatriate from Pirtala village and Abdullahel Baki (18), son of Sohrab Hossain alias Sentu, also a Saudi expatriate from the same village. Both were students of class XI at Kushtia Islamia College.
Siam died on the spot and Baki was rushed to Kushtia General Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, the OC said.

Locals seized the bus and handed it over to the police.
The deceased’s body will be taken to the 250-bed General Hospital in Meherpur, the OC added.

College student dies in Natore road accident
A college student died after a motorcycle collided head-on with a cattle-carrying locally customised vehicle, “Nosimon”, in Mougram area of Singra upazila under Natore district this afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Cesar Sarkar (18), a first-year student of Bamihal Rahmat Iqbal College, said Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Singra Police Station.
Cesar, who was riding the motorcycle, was critically injured in the accident. He was taken to the Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead, said the OC.

3 college students dead in Chandpur bus-auto collision
Three college students were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the Bishwa road area of Chandpur's Kachua upazila early on Thursday morning.
The deceased were identified as Urmi Majumder (24), Rifat Hossain (22), and Saddam Hossain (28). All the deceased were students of Cumilla Victoria College and residents of Kachua upazila.

Eye-witnesses said the accident occurred around 8am when the Dhaka-bound BRTC bus hit the Cumilla-bound auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction in the Bishwa road area.
The impact of the crash was such that two students travelling in the auto died on the spot while three others, including its driver, sustained injuries, police said.

The injured were rushed to Kachua Upazila Health Complex where another student was declared dead on arrival.
Mohiuddin, officer-in-charge of the Kachua police station, said both the vehicles have been seized. "A probe is on."

College students vandalise buses demanding half bus fare
Students of two college on Saturday vandalized 10-12 buses in Science Laboratory area demanding half-fare bus ride in the city for students.
A group of students brought out a procession in the area at noon and staged demonstrations, said Ekram Ali, officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi Police Station.
They also vandalized 10-12 buses passing the area.

Bodies of two Ideal College students recovered
