Dhaka Mohammedan SC maintained their unbeaten record in the 11-team Green Delta Insurance Premier Division Hockey League beating Bangladesh Police SC  by 4-3 goal in a keenly contested match at the Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday. With the day's feat,  Mohammedan SC maintained their 2nd slot intact in the league securing 19 points from seven matches after beating Victoria SC 10-1,  Azad SC 4-0, drew 3-3 draw with Usha KC,  crushing Dilkusha SC 11-1, Sadharan Bima KS  5-1 and Ajax SC 5-3, apart from day's 4-3 victory. With the day's debacle,  Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club went down in the league securing 13 points from six matches to share the 2nd slot with Mohammedan SC, who also bagged 13 points, playing one match less than the Mariners. Mariner Youngs Club, which made a frustrating start after suffering a shocking 1-5 goals defeat against Usha KC in the league opener, today (Saturday) again lost important points against a mediocre Police team in their sixth match. Earlier, Mariners Youngs strongly came back in the race in their 2nd match outplaying Azad SC 13-2, crushing  Dilkusha SC 18-1, defeating Victoria SC 11-2, beat Ajax SC 4-3, apart from the day's 5-5 draw against Police SC. Bangladeshi IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman drew with IM Quizon Quang of Philippines in the 3rd round match of the Hanoi Grandmaster-2 Chess Tournament'2024 held in Hanoi, Vietnam on Wednesday. IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman played with white pieces against Sicilian Defense of IM Quizon Quang and settled for a draw after 31 moves. The 4th round game between IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman and  FM Tran Dang Minh Quang of Vietnam was in progress on Thursday till last report received.

Mariner Youngs Club strongly came back in the league race crushing Azad SC by 13-2 goals in the 2nd match, piled up a massive 18-1 goals victory  over Dilkusha SC in the 3rd  match, another huge 11-2 goals win over Victoria SC in the 4th match, apart from day's 4-3 victory over Ajax SC. In the day's match, Moinul Islam Koushik, Indian Ajoy Yadav, Deepok and local star defender Shohanur Rahman Sabuj scored one goal  each for the Mariner Youngs Club. This was the 4th victory for old Dhaka outfit Usha KC in their 6th league match and remained at 2nd slot in the league table securing 13 points, They  beat defending champions Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club by 5-1 goals in league opener, defeated Ajax SC by 4-2 goals, beat Police FC by 3-2 goals, apart from the day's 8-2 win over Bangladesh SC  But, they lost the lone match to Dhaka Abahani Ltd  by 1-2 goals and drew 3-3 with Dhaka Mohammedan SC in the remaining two matches. Dhaka Abahani Limited  comfortably dominated the league table with all-win record securing full 15 points from straight five matches outplaying  Dilkusha SC 10-1 goals, Usha KC by 2-1 goals,  Azad SC by 10-1 goals, Sadharan Bima KS by 3-0 goals and crushing Victoria SC 16-0 goals. In the day's match, local national player Hasan Jubair Niloy and Indian recruit Mohammad  Shariq made hattricks scoring three goals each while Indian player Aniket struck two goals for Usha KC. After the match, Dhaka Abahani Ltd topped the league table with an all-win-record outplaying Dilkusha SC 10-1 goals, Usha KC by 2-1 goals and Azad SC also by 10-1 goals. In the day's match, Malaysian player Faisal Bin Sari, local forward Rasel Mahmud Jimmy and Amirul Islam scored for Mohammedan SC while penalty corner specialist Mahbub Hossain struck two and Indian player Irshad Iktidar scored the other goal for Usha KC. Apart from Ashu's hat-trick with three goals, Jamil Bin Shuvo and Ravi scored two goals each while Kamruzzaman Rana scored the remaining goal for the insurance men's team.
