Meizu 20 Review: A Solid Performer in the Mid-range Segment
The Chinese Consumer Electronics manufacturing brand Meizu is the 11th largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. Meizu phones are known for their flagship-grade features on a mid-range budget. Recently, the Meizu 20 became officially available globally. Let’s find out the key features, pros, cons, and price of Meizu 20 in Bangladesh.
Key Specs of Meizu 20
Design and Build Quality
Meizu 20 with its design would lead anyone to confuse it with the Samsung Galaxy S series. It has the same chamfered edges, flat design structure, aluminum frame, and glass front and back. The camera system is also vertically placed completing the replicative look.
Dimension-wise, the Meizu 20 comes in at 157.93 mm by 73.5 mm by 7.99 mm, weighing 190 g. The weight remains under 200 g mainly due to a smaller battery capacity on the Meizu 20.

The choice of ports and buttons is as usual. There’s no headphone jack or an external micro SDXC on the 20. The fingerprint scanner is an in-display type with Meizu claiming 0.075 seconds response on the Ultrasonic mTouch 2.0 sensor. A secondary noise cancellation is positioned at the top with the sim tray at the bottom.
The Meizu 20 comes in gray, green, pink, yellow, and a colorway called Monologue. As for protection, the device is IP54 dust and splash-resistant.
The Display
The display on the Meizu 20 is a 6.55-inch OLED panel with a 144 Hz refresh rate and 1B colors. The resolution of the panel comes in at 1080 by 2400 pixels with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 402 ppi density. The near-symmetrical bezel on all sides means the Meizu 20 has a screen-to-body ratio of 89.2%). The high contrast ratio of 5000000:1 combined with 500 nits of typical and 800 nits of peak brightness makes for a pleasing viewing experience both indoors and outdoors.
On day-to-day use, the device maintains the 144 Hz speed. Touch response is smooth and media consumption is also great.

At this price point, the display of the Meizu 20 is easily on par with the Honor 50, and Realme 11 Pro while slightly falling short of the recently launched Motorola Edge 50. Surprisingly enough, the 20 has a better refresh rate and pixel count than the latest Meizu 21.
Overall, it’s a great display that’s worth every buck.
The Camera
There’s a triple camera setup on the Meizu 20 with the main sensor being a 50 MP f/1.9 aperture and 24 mm lens. The main sensor is equipped with PDAF and OIS. The second sensor is a 16 MP f/2.4 16 mm 122 degrees ultrawide shooter. And lastly, there’s also a 5 MP f/2.4 depth sensor. The front camera is a 32 MP f/2.5 wide-angle shooter.
The camera performance of the Meizu 20 is impressive. Pictures taken outdoors had a decent dynamic range with great details. The color reproduction is also vibrant and it didn’t oversaturate the content. The nighttime images also produced similar results albeit with a bit of exposure issues. The wide-angle camera is also nearly on par with the main one in terms of details and contrast.

The front camera produced characteristic beautified pictures which are common in most Chinese smartphones. But it also had good details and contrast balance.
The Meizu 20 can shoot up to 8K at 30 fps. but users will get the best result at 4K at 30 fps where both OIS and gyro-EIS kick in.
While the megapixel count isn’t a definitive metric, the Honor 50 (108 MP) and the Realme 11 Pro (100 MP) both have better sensors. The former even comes with a quad-camera system.
Processor and Performance
The processor on the Meizu 20 is Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 based on 4 Nm architecture. It has an octa-core chip design of 1x3.2 GHz Cortex-X3 & 2x2.8 GHz Cortex-A715 & 2x2.8 GHz Cortex-A710 & 3x2.0 GHz Cortex-A510 with Adreno 740 GPU.
In terms of performance, the 8 Gen 2 still holds up compared to today’s flagships.

Meizu 20 sports 12 GB of RAM. Its storage capacity ranges from 128 to 500 GB. Depending on internal storage the phone has three variants 12/128 GB, 12/256 GB, and 12/500 GB.
You’re looking at a score of 1532713 in Antutu 10 and 1991 (single core) and 5299 (multi-core) on Geekbench 6.
The processor can run all the leading game titles with ease. PUBG can be played at HDR Extreme setup. However, we found that it works best at Smooth Extreme Plus settings. There’s a constant frame rate between 50 to 60 fps. Titles like Genshin Impact and Asphalt 9 also worked smoothly.
The only noticeable gripe here would be the heating. Meizu claims to have a dedicated cooling system for the processor but the heating is very much apparent. However, gamers will not experience much throttling issues due to the heat.

Meizu 20 easily trumps the Honor 50 (Snapdragon 778G), Realme 11 Pro (Dimensity 7050), and Motorola Edge 50 (Snapdragon 7 Gen 3) in terms of performance.
Software
Meizu 20 came with Android 13 out of the box when it launched. Now users will get the Android 14 as the brand has already updated to the latest firmware. It is running a custom Flyme OS which looks more or less the same as MIUI. Bloatware issues are as apparent as ever on the Meizu 20. And for the record, users can download Playstore from third-party sites to avail of Google services.
Battery and Charge Time
The battery on the Meizu 20 is relatively small at 4700 mAh. Meizu has included an 80W charger on the box of the 20. However, the device supports up to 67W wired charging with Meizu’s proprietary Super mCharge technology. Even with 144 Hz, expect to get around one whole day's worth of battery on a full charge.

Pros and Cons of Meizu 20
Pros:
- 144 Hz high refresh rate OLED panel - 67W wired fast charging - Flat screen design - Great camera performance - Above-par video quality with up to 8K support- UFS 4.0 storage (for 256 GB and above storage variants)- Stereo speakers - Ring LED flashlight - Great for gaming and multitasking - IP54 rating.

Cons:
- No headphone jack - No micro SDXC support - No wireless charging support - No reverse charging support - No optical zoom lens
The Price of Meizu 20
Meizu 20 is available in Bangladesh at around BDT 47, 000. The price may vary depending on the seller.
Verdict
Meizu 20 offers reliable performance backed up with powerful RAM, a rapid processor, a great camera, and a fast display. However, its noticeable drawbacks include heating issues. The provisions of wireless and rapid charging supports could make it a better deal. Other than that, the Meizu 20 can be a great mid-range phone for anyone looking for a hardcore daily driver.

realme C65 5G Review: Is This Budget-friendly Phone Worth Buying?
realme has introduced its latest budget-friendly 5G smartphone C65. Dubbed as the fastest entry-level 5G smartphone by the brand, it aims to make a strong impression in the market. The phone was released on 26th April 2024 in India. Let’s learn about all the unique features of the realme C65 5G.
Key Specs and Features of realme C65 5G
Design
The realme C65 in Feather Green has a sleek design inspired by the realme P1. Its matte plastic back has a feather-like pattern, giving it a unique look. It's one of the thinnest and lightest 5G phones in its price range with a dimension of 165.6 mm by 76.1 mm by 7.9 mm, outdoing competitors like the Lava Blaze 2 and POCO M6 Pro.
The phone's body is made of polycarbonate, with flat edges like its predecessor. While it's light, weighing 190g, the sharp edges can be uncomfortable to hold for long periods. However, using the included transparent case solves this issue. It has a super-quick side-mounted fingerprint sensor and is also dust—and water-resistant (IP54), which is better than the POCO M6 Pro's IP53 rating.
Read more: Motorola Moto G24 Power Review: A Competent Smartphone within BDT 13000
The C65 sticks with a single speaker instead of upgrading to stereo sound, but it's loud enough for indoor use. It also has a headphone jack and a slot to expand the memory with an SD card.
Display
The realme C65 has a 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, which means it updates the image on the screen faster for smoother motion. However, the resolution is lower than some other phones in its price range, like the C55, which means the picture isn't as clear. The POCO M6 Pro, for example, offers a clearer picture at the same price but has a slightly slower refresh rate at 90 Hz.
Although the C65 doesn't support HDR (High Dynamic Range), it does support Widevine L1, which lets you watch HD content on streaming platforms. The 120 Hz refresh rate makes everything look smoother, which is a good thing since the phone's processor isn't the most powerful in its price range.

Cameras
The realme C65 5G comes with a simple camera setup: a 50 MP (f/1.8) main camera and an extra camera. For selfies, it has an 8 MP (f/2.0) front camera, and both cameras can record video in 1080p at 30 frames per second. These cameras are pretty basic but work fine for taking photos during the day.
The main camera takes well-exposed photos with decent detail and contrast. The range of colours is good, but sometimes shadows appear too dark. Close-up shots, however, look great with vibrant colours and clear details.
One standout feature of the C65's camera is its ability to take excellent portrait photos for its price range. Skin tones look natural, and there's a lot of detail in the photos. However, the edges around the subject could be better defined.

Performance and Hardware
The realme C65 5G runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor and offers up to 6 GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128 GB UFS 2.2 storage. However, the base model only includes 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. While the RAM is acceptable for its price, the 64 GB storage feels outdated for 2024 when storage needs are increasing rapidly.
The phone supports external memory via a microSD card. In terms of performance, 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage performed satisfactorily. It handles daily tasks smoothly, allowing you to use common apps like WhatsApp, YouTube, and Facebook without experiencing significant lag.
In benchmark tests, the phone scores well in AnTuTu v10 with 4,30,291 points, slightly behind the POCO M6 Pro. GeekBench results are decent, with a Single Core score of 785 and a Multi Core score of 1962. However, the Lava Blaze 2 outperforms it significantly in the PCMark Work benchmark.

C65 5G runs on realme UI 5.0 with the latest Android 14, promising two years of software updates and three years of security updates, which is impressive for its price point. However, it still suffers from bloatware, with several third-party apps preinstalled, including Snapchat, Amazon, LinkedIn, Agoda, Netflix, and Public.
Battery and Charging
The realme C65 has a big 5,000 mAh battery, and when combined with the efficient Dimensity 6300 6 nm processor, it can last for about two days with light use. Even if you use it a lot, you can expect around six to eight hours of screen-on time, which is good.
In a test where the phone played a 4K video on a loop, the realme C65 lasted an impressive 15 hours before the battery ran out. When playing a demanding game like Call of Duty: Mobile for 15 minutes, it only uses up five percent of the battery, which is impressive. However, it takes more than two hours to charge the phone with the 15W charger fully.

Motorola Moto G24 Power Review: A Competent Smartphone within BDT 13000
Motorola recently launched the successor to their highly popular Moto G23 series from last year. The new Moto G24 Power was officially launched on 7th February in India with subsequent global release. The G24 Power carries a lot of the DNA from the G23 with two key improvements that are sure to make it a hot deal in the budget-friendly segment. What are they? Let’s find out.
Key Specs of the Motorola Moto G24 Power
Design and Build Quality
As expected from a budget-friendly smartphone, the Moto G24 Power is an all-plastic device. Even then, Motorola has tweaked the design a bit to give it a more premium look. The rectangular camera housing now merges with the back creating a flush design. The overall matte frosted finish also brings a minimal look to the G24 Power.
The dimension of the smartphone comes in at 163.49 mm by 74.53 mm by 8.99 mm with 197 g weight. Surprisingly, Motorola was able to keep the weight under 200 g considering the device boasts a 6000 mAh battery.
Read more: Haylou RS5 Review: A Budget-friendly Smartwatch with Health Monitoring Features
The usual ports and buttons are all present on the G24 Power. The power button itself now doubles as the fingerprint scanner. The 3.5 mm headphone jack has been placed on the top with a subtle Dolby Atmos branding beside it. The micro SDXC slot is present, this time securing a dedicated slot.
The G24 power comes in two colorways, Glacier Blue and Ink Blue. There’s no official rating but Motorola claims to have a “water-repellent design” on the G24 Power. However, users would be better off avoiding any water contact altogether.
The Display
The display on the Moto G24 Power is a 6.56-inch IPS LCD panel with a 90 Hz refresh rate and 537 nits of peak brightness. The resolution of the panel comes in at 720 x 1612 pixels with 269 ppi at 20:9 aspect ratio.
There’s a sizable bottom chin on the G24 Power which is understandable given the price point it comes at. It brings the overall screen-to-body ratio at 84.9% which is still better than most alternatives.
Read more: vivo V30 Lite Review: Know the Pros and Cons
As for the performance, the G24 Power doesn’t let down. It has good contrast and viewing angles and the panel was able to consistently push 90 Hz in intensive use and general browsing. It's on par with its competitors like the Redmi 13C and the POCO C65. The only gripe is that the G23 had a Panda Glass protection which is unavailable on the G24 Power.
As an HD+ panel, the display won’t blow you away in any way, but considering its budget-friendly price tag, the room to complain is next to none.
The Camera
There’s a dual camera setup on the Moto G24 Power. The main sensor is a 50 MP f/1.8 aperture and 0.64µm module with quad pixel technology. The secondary sensor is a 2 MP f/2.4 macro shooter.
The front camera is a 16 MP f/2.5 sensor for the Indian version. Global users will be getting an 8 MP f/2.0 front shooter.
Read more: WGP 10400mAh Mini UPS Review: Revamp of a Reliable Backup Device
The camera performance on the G24 Power has been exceptionally good for its price. The quad-pixel technology brings better details, sharpness, and dynamic range to the images. The post-processing creates 12.5 MP images using the pixel binning method. Images taken in the daylight had a good contrast and exposure ratio. The outcome was similar on artificial light as well with slight overall softness in the pictures. The front camera was also able to capture great details in both outdoor and indoor lighting. In comparison to the other 50 MP sensors of the Redmi 13C, POCO C65, and Galaxy A15, the G24 Power easily comes out on top.
The videography on the G24 Power is limited to 1080P at 30 fps. It produces generic results with stabilization and exposure issues.
Processor and Performance
The processor on the G24 Power is MediaTek Helio G85 based on 12 Nm architecture. It has a chip design of 2x2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6x1.7 GHz Cortex-A55 with Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.
The G85 is a basic entry-level processor at best. Coupled with the eMMC 5.1 slow storage type, the overall performance is slightly hampered even by the entry-level phone standards. The Antutu score comes in at 265219 with the Geekbench single-core score of 413 and a multi-core score of 1332.
Read more: realme P1 5G Review: New Mid-Range Line-up
3D titles like PUBG and Genshin Impact are barely playable on the G24 Power. The device also tends to heat up pretty fast in extensive use.
There’s an option to use up to 8 GB of virtual RAM on the G24 Power. However, the slow storage type negates the overall performance index of the device. In terms of comparison, the G85 on the G24 Power performs on par with the G85 of Redmi 13C, POCO C65, and even last year’s G23.
Software
The G24 Power is running on a custom skin by Motorola based on Android 14. The best thing about the skin is that it’s near-stock in UI. There’s also minimal bloatware which adds to the overall experience.
The G24 Power is expected to get another major OS update with up to 3 years of security updates.

Battery and Charge Time
After the camera, the battery is another key improvement on the G24 Power. It now comes with 6000 mAh with up to 30W fast charging capabilities. The charging brick on the box supports up to 33W fast charging.
Given the high battery capacity, expect to get around 7 to 8 hours of screen time from the G24 Power.

Haylou RS5 Review: A Budget-friendly Smartwatch with Health Monitoring Features
Chinese company Haylou is renowned for manufacturing budget-friendly smartwatches. Haylou released its latest smartwatch RS5, on 27 February 2024 in China. Though being a lookalike of its ancestor RS4, the RS5 sets the difference with its features. Let’s dive deep into the features of the Haylou RS5.
Key Features and Specs of Haylou RS5 Smartwatch
Design
If you're familiar with the RS4, you'll find the Haylou RS5's design very similar. It features a rectangular case with a flat display on top and a crown on the side for navigating the operating system. Users will get over 150 fully customisable watch faces.
Despite its price, the smartwatch doesn't have an all-plastic build. Haylou opted for an aircraft-grade metal frame, making it quite sturdy. However, the bottom panel is made of plastic. Within the frame, there are two speaker openings on the left side and a microphone hole on the right side, next to the crown.
Read more: Honor Watch 4 Review: Is it worth buying?
The crown on the RS5 is not as smooth as the one on the S8, requiring a bit more force to move. You can use the crown to enable the menu and scroll through options, but you still need to tap on the display to enter specific sections.
On the rear panel, there's a circular bump housing the heart rate sensor area. Two magnetic pins for charging are located a bit above it. Surprisingly, the charging cable from the S8 is the same as the one for the RS5, but they're not interchangeable.
The RS5 comes with soft silicone straps with a universal locking mechanism, making them easy to replace. Additionally, a green textile strap with Velcro is included in the package. It may offer a better fit for some, although it's a matter of personal preference.
Read more: vivo V30 Lite Review: Know the Pros and Cons
The smartwatch's IP68 waterproof rating makes it adaptable to different environments. So users won’t have to worry about drenching in the rain or diving in a pool.
Display
The Haylou RS5 features a 2.01-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 410×502 pixels, similar to that on the S8 and Solar Plus models.
The display offers deep blacks and clean whites, but the resolution is uncertain because the text appeared crisper on the S8. Despite this, the display can reach very high brightness levels, ensuring visibility even in bright outdoor conditions, though this can impact battery life.
Read more: WGP 10400mAh Mini UPS Review: Revamp of a Reliable Backup Device
The Always on Display (AoD) feature, a new addition for Haylou, presents the time and date elegantly, with an option for an analogue look. It seems the display only activates necessary pixels, which helps conserve battery.
Regarding the refresh rate, while 60Hz is standard for many devices, it's not common among entry-level smartwatches. Its inclusion is appreciated, but the hardware may struggle to keep up, leading to slightly less smooth navigation within the operating system.
Performance, Hardware and Connectivity
The Haylou RS5 smartwatch features 16MB of flash memory and 304kB of MCU (RAM). Details about the SoC are still unknown.
Haylou has confirmed support for Bluetooth 5.2 in RS5. This means the smartwatch communicates with the smartphone, including Bluetooth calls, within a range of about 30 feet, accounting for typical home interference like walls. It's worth noting that the HAYLOU Watch S8 Smartwatch employs Bluetooth 5.3, although this doesn't alter bandwidth or coverage significantly.

The watch features a full set of health monitoring functionalities. Using the Haylou RS5 smartwatch, users can check their heart rate, breathing, blood oxygen, stress level, different sleeping stages, and REM stage. Female users will enjoy a few exclusive features for female health care.

vivo V30 Lite Review: Know the Pros and Cons
The V series has been the premium flagship line of the reputed smartphone manufacturing brand vivo for several years. The brand also introduced the V Lite lineup to provide a flagship-like experience to mid-range users. vivo recently launched the V30 Lite, the successor to last year's hugely popular V29 Lite on 6th May 2024 in Bangladesh. Let’s take a look at the features, pros, cons, and price of the vivo V30 Lite.
Key Specifications of the vivo V30 Lite
Design and Build Quality
There are several new design features with the new V30 Lite. The core design elements remain the same bearing a rectangular camera housing, vertical sensors, and a punch-hole display. The back panel is made from AG Fluorite glass with injection screening to provide a feather-like pattern. The back panel has thermal sensitivity where it changes color in contact with sunlight.
The dimension of the device comes in at 163.17 mm by 75.81 mm by 7.79 mm (Crystal Black) and 163.17 mm by 75.81 mm by 7.95 mm (Breeze Green) for the two variants. The weight corresponds to 186g (Crystal Black) and 196g (Breeze Green) respectively. It’s a slightly smaller footprint compared to the vivo V29 Lite making it a bit more compact.
Read more: WGP 10400mAh Mini UPS Review: Revamp of a Reliable Backup Device
Ports and buttons are all in their usual positions. Like the ancestor V29 Lite, there is no headphone jack on V30 Lite. The V30 Lite is also IP54 dust and splash-resistant making it more durable.
The Display
The display on the vivo V30 Lite is a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a dynamic 120 Hz refresh rate and 1 B colors. Users will enjoy up to 1800 nits of peak brightness in a space of 88.3% screen-to-body ratio.
The resolution of its display comes in at 2400 by 1080 pixels with 394 ppi density. Additional features like 107% color saturation, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and E4 light-emitting materials make this display a touch above the rest.
Read more: realme P1 5G Review: New Mid-Range Line-up
considering overall quality, the V30 Lite takes the edge over the V29 Lite. Even among its competitors, the V30 Lite provides better results than the Samsung Galaxy A55 or Oppo Reno 11 F. The only device to edge over the V30 Lite at this price is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro.
The Camera
There’s a dual camera setup on the vivo V30 Lite. The main sensor is a 50 MP f/1.8 with PDAF and the secondary sensor is a 2 MP f/2.4 depth sensor. The front features a generic 8 MP f/2.0 sensor.
From the spec alone, the V30 Lite falls short of its competitors as most devices at this price range come with a triple camera setup. The V29 Lite also had a triple camera setup with the main sensor being a 64 MP one.
Read more: Portable AC Buyer’s Guide for 2024: Everything You Need to Know
But speaking of the actual performance, the V30 Lite produces on-par results. Pictures came out sharp with great contrast and neutral color in daylight. There was no forced color reproduction which the A55 or the Redmi Note 13 Pro suffers from. The quality was also similar in low light with better exposition in the dedicated night mode.
The depth sensor helps in taking great portrait shots. Users can tweak the bokeh effect after taking a shot which might be handy in different situations. The front camera also produced passable results with good details and dynamic range.
The videography on the vivo V30 Lite is limited to 1080P at 30 fps. It produced decent results using the included EIS feature.

Processor and Performance
The processor on the V30 Lite is the Snapdragon 685 based on a 6 Nm architecture. It is a point of contention given that all the competitors including the previous gen V29 Lite have a better processor.
The processor features an octa-core architecture with 4 × 2.8 GHz and 4 × 1.9 GHz locked clock speed. The Antutu score of the CPU comes in at 346350 and the Geekbench score is 473 (single-core) and 1510 (multi-score).
In terms of performance, the V30 Lite is a daily task smartphone at best. Gaming isn’t its forte as titles like PUBG and Genshin Impact were barely playable in moderate settings. There’s also the thermal issue with prolonged gaming.

Considering the price, the performance of the vivo V30 Lite isn’t all that great. Alternatives like Galaxy A55 (Exynos 1480), Redmi Note 13 Pro (7s Gen 2), and Reno 11 F (Dimensity 7050) all bring better performance in a similar price range.
Software
The V30 Lite is running Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14. It has its fair share of bloatware but the overall user experience was moderate with fast navigation and app switching.
Battery and Charge Time
The battery on the vivo V30 Lite is 5000 mAh. The device comes with 80W FlashCharge which can take the device from 0 to 80% in 30 minutes. With moderate and casual use, expect to get around 6 to 7 hours of screen time from the device.

Pros and Cons of vivo V30 Lite
Pros

Official Price of vivo V30 Lite in Bangladesh
The V30 Lite is available in the 8/256 GB variant in Bangladesh. The price of the V30 Lite is 32,999 BDT. However, the price is subject to change.
Verdict
The V30 Lite can be best termed as a mixed-bag smartphone. It brings an interesting design with gimmicky features, great display, and great battery life. But at the same time, it grossly falls short in the performance department.
If you’re looking for a more capable device in terms of performance and camera capabilities then the A55 and Redmi Note 13 Pro can be a better choice. Other than that, the vivo V30 Lite can be good for those looking for a stylish smartphone for casual use.

realme P1 5G Review: New Mid-Range Line-up
Launching the P Series, realme introduced their new mid-range smartphone lineup with 5G support. Since last year there have been rumors about the launch of a fresh mid-range line-up. Finally, the P1 and P1 Pro had their global release on 15th April 2024 in India. The P1 brings the familiar realme DNA with some impressive choices. Let's take a detailed look at the features, pros, cons, and price of the realme P1 5G.
Key Specs of the realme P1 5G
Design and Build Quality: A Smartphone with the Looks
At first glance, the P1 seems different from the common materialistic design of most realme smartphones. The phone is made from plastic with a circular camera housing on the back. The back itself has an abstract feather texture giving it a distinct and premium look. The two color options are called Peacock Green and Phoenix Red.
Dimension-wise, the P1 comes in at 162.95 mm by 75.45 mm by 7.97 mm with 188 g physical weight. Surprisingly, the P1 kept the headphone jack which isn’t all that available in mid-range smartphones anymore. Although the top position might not appeal to everyone.

realme skipped on the micro SDXC with the P1 as users will have options of either 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage. Ports and buttons are all in their usual space including the dual nano-sim port.
The P1 is also IP54 dust and splash-resistant which is a pleasant addition at this price point. Overall, the build quality of the P1 is spectacular.
The Display: 120 Hz AMOLED Panel
The P1 5G features a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 600 nits of HBM, and 1200 nits of peak brightness. The resolution comes in at 1080 by 2400 pixels with 395 ppi density. There’s a slight chin at the bottom of the panel despite which the P1 boasts a 92.65% screen-to-body ratio. In terms of protection, there’s a secondary 0.68 mm unrated tempered glass protecting the front panel on the P1.
The user experience on the panel is pretty good. There's Widevine L1 support for HDR content. The contrast ratio comes in at 5,000,000:1 with 16.7 M colors and 100% P3 color gamut support.

The only caveat is that the display stutters with prolonged 4K content streaming. 4K 60 fps content on YouTube started to drop frames here and there after 5 or so minutes of streaming. It could be a processor issue that would require optimization fixes.
The Camera: 50 MP main and 2 MP Depth Sensor
If there were two words to summarize the camera performance of the P1, it would be warm tones and soft images. The main camera on the device is a 50 MP f/1.8 5P lens with 77 degrees FOV and 27 mm focal length. The secondary 2 MP camera has an f/2.4 aperture, 88.8 degrees FOV, and a 22 mm focal length.
The front camera is a 16 MP shooter with f/2.45 aperture, 82.6 degrees field of view, and 1/3 sensor size.

Pictures taken in daylight had a distinctly warm tone to them. It aided in color burst but at times it looked artificial rather than natural. The dynamic range isn’t also that great with clear room for improvements.
The situation isn’t all that great in low light as well. Images taken in artificial light or low light showed consistent softness giving it an oil paint-like processing. The night mode is the only saving grace but that too couldn’t keep off the grains from the images. The story is also the same with the front camera with overall soft images in every lighting condition.
The videography on the P1 is rated at a maximum of 4K at 30 fps without EIS stabilization. Footage at 1080P at 30 fps produces usable output as the EIS becomes available at this resolution.

Portable AC Buyer’s Guide for 2024: Everything You Need to Know
In this unbearable summer heat, air conditioners are a lifesaver. However, most air conditioners come as fixed units. Some are central AC units which can be quite expensive to install. So what do you get if you want a portable option? Well, look no further than portable air conditioners. Unlike fixed units, portable ACs can be moved around from one place to another depending on their type. It's effective, saves cost, and doesn’t require additional fittings. Here’s everything you need to know about portable ACs, their types, and the best options out in the market.
How Does Portable AC Work?
Portable AC works on the basic principles of fixed AC units. The difference is that some portable AC units aren’t dependent on an outdoor unit. Others don’t require a drip hose or tray. Some portable ACs are essentially self-fulfilling units.
A portable has the following components:
- Compressor - Evaporator Coil and Refrigerant - Condenser Coil - Fan
The evaporator coil and refrigerant work to cool the air while the compressor triggers the refrigerant for the cooling process. The fan moves around to disperse the cool air. On the other hand, the condenser coil cools down the refrigerant. Depending on the type, the drip water either goes out through the hose, collects in the tray, or gets evaporated.

Types of Portable AC
There are mainly three types of portable AC. They are:
Monoblock Type AC Units
Monoblock-type AC units are further classified into two types:
Single Hose Portable AC
As the name suggests, single-hose portable AC uses a unitary hose to intake and exhaust air into the unit. This type of unit is less costly compared to the double hose units but is also less efficient. The operational noise however is very low with surrounding noise reaching up to 60 dB max.
Double Hose Portable AC
The double-hose portable AC has two different hoses for intake and exhaust. Compared to single-hose units, these ACs are less mobile. However, the dual hose system allows for efficient and fast cooling.
Split Portable AC
Split portable AC works similar to the monoblock ACs. However, unlike the single-unit structure of the monoblock, split AC has two separate components. The condensing unit is installed outside whereas the portable ventilation unit is placed inside. A hose connects both units.
The only advantage of split ACs is that they are less bulky and easy to move around within a small area. They are also less noisy compared to the monoblock units.
Self-evaporating Portable AC
Self-evaporating portable ACs are truly self-sustaining units. These types of ACs release the hot air and the moisture directly from the unit within the room. As a result, there is no need for a drip tray or an external hose.
These AC units are much smaller compared to the other types making them suitable for small space and personal use.

What to Consider Before Buying a Portable AC?
So you’re in the market for a portable AC. Given the different types and sizes, the choice of ACs can become confusing. Here’s a list of things to keep an eye out for.
Size of the Room
The size of the room is the first thing you should consider before getting a portable AC unit. Portable ACs need to be matched with the size of the room to get the optimum performance. For example, a unit with low tonnage in a large room will not be able to cool the room. On the other hand, a higher tonnage unit in a small room will repeatedly cycle on and off.
BTU Rating
BTU or British Thermal Unit is the unit of cooling capacity for AC units. You can consult with AC experts to get the correct size of AC unit for your space.
Energy Efficiency
Energy efficiency is a key aspect to consider as AC units may rack up your electricity bills. Look for AC units with an Energy Efficiency Ratio or EER certification. A higher EER indicates a higher level of energy efficiency which will save you utilities in the long run. You can also consider energy star-rated units for higher energy savings.

Exhaust Vent Options
There are mainly two options – single hose or dual hose for exhaust venting. Dual hose options are more efficient compared to single hose options. However, the higher efficiency comes at the cost of reduced mobility. Single hose options can be a good choice for smaller rooms whereas dual hose units are better suited for larger ones.
Portability
If absolute portability is what you’re looking for, then consider getting the self-evaporating type AC units. These are best suited for smaller rooms and can be easily moved around as long as there’s a power outlet connected to it.
On the other hand, single-hose, dual-hose, or split-type units will offer limited mobility but better efficiency in usage.
Noise Level
Portable AC units tend to be louder compared to the standard traditional units. Most fixed units range between 30 to 40 dB sound whereas portable units may range anywhere between 60 to 80 dB.
If you want reduced noise, consider opting for a split-type AC unit.
