Digital Addiction of Children: How can parents get kids off screens?
Technological advancements have brought limitless benefits in diverse sectors including medical science, communication, infrastructure, education, etc. In this era, boundless access to technology is also affecting children. Many kids are getting addicted to excessive screen time. Let's discuss the implications of digital addiction on kids. We will also discuss how to beat internet addiction in children.
Is Technology Addiction a Real Threat for Children?
Technology advances and changes at the same rate as children. It is only normal for a parent to be concerned about what their children are experiencing as a result of their continual exposure to devices. According to research, the physical structure of the brain changes as a result of repeated encounters. However, it is the child's interpretation of the experiences that produce this blueprint for brain growth, not the experiences themselves.

Nerve impulses are fired in the brain every time a youngster goes through an experience. These brain pathways are repeatedly activated as a result of repeated encounters. The stronger neural connections get the more frequently they are used. As a result, a youngster who watches TV or plays video games on a regular basis will have a brain that is physically different from a child who does not. Similarly, parts of the brain that are not used frequently can get rusty. When neuronal connections are not used on a regular basis, they gradually stop working.
The internet provides an escape for children and teenagers to avoid unpleasant feelings or situations for which they intentionally spend more time on screen. They let go of sleep in order to spend time online. They are also found to isolate themselves from family and friends in order to escape into the comfortable online environment that they have sculpted and have the power to more or less control.
Children with a lack of rewarding or caring interactions, as well as inadequate social and coping skills, are more likely to engage in improper or excessive online behavior. They turn to invisible strangers in online chat rooms for the attention and camaraderie they lack in their real-life because they feel alone, alienated, and may have difficulty making new friends.

They may come from homes where there are serious problems, or they may be bullied or have difficulty socializing in school and extracurricular activities, so they use the internet to cope with their problems. They learn to instant message buddies instead of developing face-to-face interactions, which might have an impact on how they relate to their peers.

How to Break Internet Addiction?
Addiction to the internet happens when people get dependent on the use of the internet. It can be texting, constantly peeking, or using social media. Professionals have compared this addiction to drug addiction because it impacts a person’s health, daily life, work performance, mental process, and engagement with others, the same way drugs do. The American Psychiatric Association has reported that children between the ages of 13 and 17 are practically always online. These figures demonstrate that addiction to the internet is becoming more prevalent and real on a daily basis. Are you addicted to the internet? Do you want to know the way out? Stay with us!
Why is Digital Media Addiction Harmful?
Health professionals often state that too much sitting is the new smoking. However, perhaps it is more worrying is what people normally do when seated. Like, mindlessly browsing through social media accounts when they have a few free minutes. And, as we presumably instinctively understand, and as researchers confirm, this is a harmful practice for our collective psyche.
Here are a few most terrific impacts social media addiction can bring upon people’s overall health.
A Sense of Inadequacy
Social media users are aware that the photographs they see on these media are edited. These things nevertheless make them feel uneasy about their appearance or current circumstances.
Similarly, people mostly share only the great aspects of their life, seldom the terrible ones that they encounter. However, this can provoke the emotions of jealousy and unhappiness when an unhappy person goes through a friend's retouched images doing exciting things like visiting an exotic beach vacation, celebrating a new job promotion, partying in a lavish restaurant, etc.

Fear of Not Having Anything
There is a term for it that refers to The Fear of Missing out or FOMO. FOMO occurs when social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook seem to intensify emotions that other people are having fun or enjoying lives that someone else dreams of.
The belief that one is missing out on some things might have a negative effect on one’s self-esteem, and provoke one’s anxiety. Which in turn will motivate that individual to engage in even more social media usage.

How to Check Official Phone Using BTRC IMEI Number?
The BTRC issued a statement in August 2021 detailing the unlawfully acquired and imported cell phones. Furthermore, freshly imported unlawful handsets will be removed from the local network through the National Equipment Identity Register (NEIR). Anyone can verify and check the BTRC IMEI code of his smartphone to protect their device from becoming obsolete. This article will give a step-by-step process of verifying the IMEI number of a handset.
What is an IMEI Number?
The term IMEI stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity, a unique number used to recognize a mobile phone on a network. It's like a social security number, except it's given to a phone. An IMEI number comprises 15 digits and is assigned to all GSM phones. The BTRC IMEI is the IMEI number that is given or assigned by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
Read Why are Smartphone Makers Increasing Prices?
They have created a database in order to store IMEI numbers, which mobile service providers may access. The user does not need to register the IMEI number they are currently using until June 30, 2021. Over ten million cell phone IMEI numbers have already been registered.
How to Check Official Phone Using BTRC IMEI Number?
So, smartphone buyers should know how to check or verify their BTRC IMEI. Because before purchasing a new smartphone, verify the IMEI of the device with the BTRC to determine whether it was imported illegally and legally in Bangladesh.
People can perform a BTRC IMEI status check following these simple steps:
Find the IMEI of a Smartphone
First, dial a general code *#06#. It will show the 15-digit code, also known as the IMEI number. Every phone has a unique IMEI number. Users will need this number to further check their BTRC IMEI.

Send a Short Message to BTRC to Verify IMEI
This step requires users to go to their message option and type below term
KYD 15 Digit IMEI
Send the SMS to 16002
Wait for Getting a Verification SMS from BTRC
After sending the request, users will promptly get an instant SMS from the BTRC’s end. This SMS will inform them whether their smartphones have been imported legally or not.

Conclusion
Finally, a crucial reminder for the users is that to register or verify the IMEI number, they should keep the BTRC IMEI verification number safe. Additionally, they should ensure that they do not divulge their IMEI number to a single person. Shady people routinely add a real IMEI number to an illegal or stolen device in order to prevent it from being blacklisted. This is highly prohibited in many countries.

Why are Smartphone Makers Increasing Prices?
In 2021, the worldwide chipset scarcity has had a significant effect, as several OEMs failed to satisfy demand due to the consequences of the epidemic. However, this issue has the potential to worsen the situation, particularly for Smartphone consumers. According to recent research, when manufacturing expenses will climb next year, the price of chipsets, and hence smartphones, might rise even more. Let's dig out the reasons why the price of smartphones will increase in 2022?
3 Reasons Why Smartphone Makers are Increasing Prices
There are many reasons why manufacturers can increase prices for their phones. According to the market movement, the following reasons are the prime factors that are mainly pulling the strings.
Global Shortage for the Supply of Smartphone Components
The smartphone market has been expanding day by day. The demand and shipments are likely to increase more in 2022. The price ranges of smartphone components like memory and chipsets are rising due to their ongoing scarcity.
Read Best Camera Phones Released in 2021
There are significant limits of chipsets, posing a problem in the budget-friendly section of the market. The worldwide chip shortage still has not had an effect on the smartphone segment since the demand-supply balance has been reached. This may alter in the following quarters, resulting in a rise in the worldwide average price of cellphones.
Now the smartphone producers have to decide their next steps whether they want to absorb the expense or push it off to their customers. The expense seems to have been passed on to customers by different brands. The majority of the price increases will affect the entry-level or budget segments.

Smartphone Components Price Hike
Earlier this year, experts have cautioned about the rise in smartphone pricing. Aside from the scarcity of 4G CPUs, the cost of components such as charting adapters, motherboard components, memory chipsets, and others has risen. This price rise has resulted in a minimum of a 10% increase in the expenses of manufacturing cellophane, which will ultimately reach the end-user.
Xiaomi President Xang Wiang issued a similar warning in March. He remarked that the corporation will endeavor to reduce expenses to a certain extent but that anything beyond that would be passed on to customers. Because the margins on low-cost phones are so small, they suffer the most.

The Advent of the 5G Technology
The cost of smartphones is projected to grow further as many nations are adopting 5G- networks and supportive phones are widespread. With people eager to shift to 5G-enabled handsets, there will be an increase in demand for all these smartphones.
Though the world has seen the influx of affordable 5G handsets, the technology isn't yet accessible in many countries, and the pricing is exorbitant. When 5G will be available throughout the world, there will be greater demand for supportive phones, and consumers will have to pay more for them.

Conclusion
The epidemic has had a detrimental effect on supply chains in general, with chips being especially heavily struck. Manufacturers are doing their best to cope up with the situation, but chip scarcity is a serious impediment right now.
