GSMA sets out 5G Roadmap for Asia Pacific
New Report Finds Wide Disparity in APAC 5G Readiness, With Spectrum Planning And Management Key To Success
A new analysis of 5G across the Asia Pacific (APAC), published in April by the GSMA, has revealed wide disparities in 5G readiness across the region. The report found that a planned approach to spectrum availability and management are key differentiators for the successful roll-out of high-speed 5G services between competing APAC economies, especially in 700MHz and mid-bands.
The GSMA's 'Roadmaps for awarding 5G spectrum in the APAC Region' provides market analysis and a guide for 5G development in countries across the Asia Pacific. It outlines the steps governments and regulators should take to enable efficient and effective availability of spectrum. To reap the benefits of ultra-fast 5G networks, an average of 2 GHz of mid-band spectrum alone is predicted to be required in the 2025-2030 timeframe, but in many cases, the current path to meeting such spectrum demand is unclear.

The APAC region has been a leader in 5G deployment; Korea and Japan were among the first in the world to test and launch commercial networks. However, in other parts of APAC, 5G preparedness varies hugely and countries are faced with a number of issues including a lack of spectrum availability, especially in the sub-1 GHz range, and cross-border coordination. In some cases, 5G spectrum is yet to be awarded.
Different demographics and economies across the diverse region mean that countries such as Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Thailand and Vietnam will require enhanced or bespoke roadmaps. Meanwhile, India is moving ahead with a robust consultation programme as it develops its plans for affordable connectivity.
"The most successful countries are those with a defined plan for 5G deployment. Across APAC, we see a wide disparity in countries' readiness for 5G, and the key differentiator is spectrum management. This report will help governments and regulators in countries across the Asia Pacific to enable 5G in the most efficient way possible," said the GSMA's Head of Spectrum, Luciana Camargos.

However, if you have the desire, enthusiasm, smartness and a little bit of support from the family, it is very much possible. At my company, Emarajina Technologies, girls seem to work more honestly and harder than the boys. Dedication for work is also seen more in girls than in boys when they are provided a comfort zone.”
ABM Jabed Sultan Piyas, Head of Business of daily Prothom Alo, said “In Prothom Alo , women always get priority. A woman-friendly atmosphere has always existed in the media of Bangladesh. And you would be happy to know that there is a policy to follow while joining at Prothom Alo that all male colleagues need to read a book on feminism and strictly adhere to it”.

Md. Shahriar Hossain Jisan, National Consultant of A2I ICT Division said “. The government has zero tolerance for harassment of girls on online platforms. However, support from the law can be obtained only when a written GD is filed. So we have to make these allegations with courage. And online careers are global, they have no boundaries. The range of online careers is much higher, especially for girls in this sector. Payment is also much higher, you can do this by developing your own skills.”
Shubhashis Roy, Head of Business of The Daily Star said, “Journalists now have to work and survive with the knowledge of ICT whether it is a boy or a girl. We are also moving forward along the path of digital Bangladesh. We need more girls in ICT, we have to bring equality of opportunity. It is necessary to create awareness in the society, more initiatives are needed from the government. Girls in ICT are essential to the future survival of the economy.”
Nazia Hasan, Head of Design at Design & API said, “We need a big change in the field of education, it should start from the very beginning. We have to try to create curiosity in children from an early age. Girls need to be encouraged to enter the ICT sector through various competitions.”

Talukdar Mohammad Sabbir, Director & CEO – BITM said, “At the beginning of the BITM course, the participation of girls was almost negligible. Yet that is not too much, about 15-20%. Probably a factor as to why they're doing so poorly. Boys are more likely to be seen in ICT sector courses, which is not desirable at all. Overall, where more than 40% of the girls should be present, more than 20% of us have never come here as participants, which is sad.”
Lightshow co-founder Sultana Razia said if women's participation in the ICT sector is not increased, women will lag behind in terms of empowerment. Lightshow will conduct training on STEMs, workshops on STEMs, hackathon on ARCTs and raising awareness on increasing ICT participation of women.

DJI halts Russia, Ukraine business to prevent drone misuse
Drone company DJI Technology Co has temporarily suspended business activities in Russia and Ukraine to prevent use of its drones in combat, in a rare case of a Chinese company pulling out of Russia because of the war.
“DJI is internally reassessing compliance requirements in various jurisdictions. Pending the current review, DJI will temporarily suspend all business activities in Russia and Ukraine,” the company said in a statement released Tuesday.
Many Western brands and companies have withdrawn from the Russian market due to Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, but Chinese firms have kept operating there. Beijing has refrained from publicly criticizing Russia over the war.

Both Ukraine and Russia are thought to be using DJI drones in combat, even though the company maintains that its products are intended for civilian use.
Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykhailo Federov wrote an open letter last month appealing to DJI to block sales of its drones in Russia, contending that Russian troops were using “DJI products in Ukraine in order to navigate their missiles to kill civilians.”
The AeroScope system installed in DJI drones allows the detection and monitoring of other drones and their operators in the vicinity via special receivers. The worry is that Russians might be using the AeroScope system to attack Ukraine drone pilots.
DJI has rejected claims that it leaked data on Ukraine’s military positions to Russia, after German retailer Mediamarkt cited Russia’s use of DJI drones in the war as a reason it removed the company’s products from its shelves.
Last week, DJI said in a statement that its drones are not marketed or sold for military use. It said it “unequivocally opposed attempts to attach weapons” to its products.

Some Common ways how bank accounts get hacked
Hackers have a wide range of methods they use to break into bank accounts. In most of the cases, hackers have one goal in common and that is money. Here are some of the most common ways hackers attack bank accounts:
Phishing
Phishing is the act of fraudulently obtaining personal information (such as login credentials, bank account information, or personal identification numbers) by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. Phishing scams are common and can be executed through email, web pages, or instant messages. Malware

Mobile Banking Trojan
There are a number of mobile banking trojans that infect devices and capture user credentials, bank account numbers, and other sensitive information. These malware variants can be installed through malicious emails or links in SMS messages and can then hijack user accounts and withdraw money from their bank accounts. While these trojans are only targeting mobile banking users, anyone who uses mobile banking to manage their finances is at risk.
Using Unprotected Public Internet
If you use a public internet connection to access your bank account, you may be at risk of having your information stolen. Hackers may be able to steal your username and password, which could allow them to access your account and financial information. Always use a secure login method, and make sure to keep your passwords confidential.
