Musk says Twitter deal could move ahead with 'bot' info
Elon Musk said Saturday his planned $44 billion takeover of Twitter should move forward if the company can confirm some details about how it measures whether user accounts are ‘spam bots’ or real people.
The billionaire and Tesla CEO has been trying to back out of his April agreement to buy the social media company, leading Twitter to sue him last month to complete the acquisition. Musk countersued, accusing Twitter of misleading his team about the true size of its user base and other problems he said amounted to fraud and breach of contract.
Both sides are headed toward an October trial in a Delaware court.
“If Twitter simply provides their method of sampling 100 accounts and how they’re confirmed to be real, the deal should proceed on original terms,” Musk tweeted early Saturday. “However, if it turns out that their SEC filings are materially false, then it should not.”
Read:Is Twitter down? Service appears to return after outage
Musk, who has more than 100 million Twitter followers, went on to challenge Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal to a "public debate about the Twitter bot percentage.”
Twitter declined comment Saturday. The company has repeatedly disclosed to the Securities and Exchange Commission an estimate that fewer than 5% of user accounts are fake or spam, with a disclaimer that it could be higher. Musk waived his right to further due diligence when he signed the April merger agreement.
Twitter has argued in court that Musk is deliberately trying to tank the deal and using the bot question as an excuse because market conditions have deteriorated and the acquisition no longer serves his interests. In a court filing Thursday, it describes his counterclaims as an imagined story “contradicted by the evidence and common sense.”
“Musk invents representations Twitter never made and then tries to wield, selectively, the extensive confidential data Twitter provided him to conjure a breach of those purported representations,” company attorneys wrote.
While Musk has tried to keep the focus on bot disclosures, Twitter’s legal team has been digging for information about a host of tech investors and entrepreneurs connected to Musk in a wide-ranging subpoena that could net some of their private communications with the Tesla CEO.

Tracking Lost or Stolen Smartphone: Some easy ways to follow
If you have ever lost your smartphone, you are well aware of the awful sensation it gives you. You start to feel sick to your stomach, and fear quickly sets in. You immediately begin looking in every direction! However, don’t worry, if you can’t find your phone anywhere. There are a lot of methods to locate a misplaced smartphone. Here’s how to find a lost or stolen smartphone.
How to Track Your Android Phone
Using a Google Account
The first method we provide for locating a misplaced Android smartphone is the simplest of the bunch. It is also the strategy that is used the most often while looking for a misplaced Android. Since Google is the owner of Android, every device ships with a number of Google applications already loaded on it. These apps include Google Maps, Gmail, and the Google Play Store.
It is quite simple to discover your Android device if you are linked to your Google account on the web browser of your own computer. Launch a web browser on your own computer, then go to Google. After that, you should put "find my Android" or "where is my phone" into the search bar.
Read Fixing Wet Phones: What to do if your phone falls into the water?
Your Android's most recent known location will be shown on a map as the first result of your search. You may also go to Google's Find My Device website, sign in, and do a search from there, even if you are not currently signed into Google or if you are using a computer that belongs to a friend.
There are a few options available to you after you have discovered the location of your misplaced Android device. Let's assume your phone is probably in the home someplace, but you haven't been able to locate it yet. Even if the volume on your phone is turned all the way down, you may still use the ringer. While you look for your phone, it will continue to ring for the next five minutes.
Using Phone Manufacturer
You don't need a Google account to locate your misplaced Android device; there are other solutions available to you. The majority of Androids come equipped with a tracking app or another method to locate the device in the event that it is misplaced. Let's take a look at some Samsung products as an example.

Find My Mobile is a feature that comes standard on Samsung Android phones. This option performs the same function as Google's Find My Device setting. You are able to track your phone through either their mobile app or online through their site if the setting is turned on.
Always check to see that this option is selected. You will be able to determine the phone's most recent position in this manner. It is capable of performing the same functions as Google, plus it has a few more features that make life easier. You may back up the phone using Find My Mobile, recover messages and phone calls, and even increase the battery life of the phone.
Using Wireless Carrier
If you have misplaced your Android phone, the majority of the major cellular carriers will point you in the direction of Google's Find My Device service. You may also report your phone as missing or stolen using the website or mobile application of your cellular carrier in the event that it is stolen or lost and there is no way for you to get it back. You even have the ability to remotely lock or delete data from your smartphone.

An IMEI number is a unique collection of 15 numbers that can only be found on your particular phone. You may discover what it stands for in the "About" section of the mobile settings. It is short for "International Mobile Equipment Identity." If you buy a new Android device, you should always make a note of the IMEI and save it in a secure location, just in case you ever find yourself in a situation where you need it.
If you ever lost your phone or have your Android phone stolen, and you do not have any other method to get it back, knowing the IMEI number of your phone will be helpful. It is always a good idea to go into the settings of your phone and establish a password. This will make it more difficult for others to access your confidential information and give you more time to find your device. However, you should never confront a thief; rather, you should ask the police to access your device and let them handle the remainder of the situation. So far, we have discussed how to track down your lost or stolen android or iPhone. Hope it helps!

Facebook ends funding for US news partnerships program
Meta Platforms says it will no longer pay U.S. news organizations to have their material appear in Facebook’s News Tab as it reallocates resources in the face of the economic downturn and changing user behavior.
The company said Thursday that most people “do not come to Facebook for news, and as a business it doesn’t make sense to over invest in areas that don’t align with user preferences.”
Meta, then called Facebook, launched the partnerships in 2019. The “News Tab” section in the Facebook mobile app only displays headlines — and nothing else — from The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, BuzzFeed News, Business Insider, NBC, USA Today and the Los Angeles Times, among others. The company did not say how much it was paying the news organizations, but reports put it in the millions of dollars for large outlets such as The Wall Street Journal.
The Associated Press did not participate in the initiative.

At the time the program launched, CEO Mark Zuckerberg told the AP that he saw “an opportunity to set up new long-term, stable financial relationships with publishers.”
But Meta, which is based in Menlo Park, California, said in a statement Thursday that a “lot has changed since we signed deals three years ago to test bringing additional news links to Facebook News in the U.S.”
In a 3rd test, Facebook still fails to block hate speech
On Wednesday, Meta Platforms Inc. posted its first revenue decline in its history and forecast weak results for the current quarter as well.
Meta does not pay for news content that outlets post on its platform. The News Tab deals, the company said Thursday, were for “incremental content, e.g., ensuring that we had access to more of their article links and that we were including a range of topic areas at launch.”
The company said Facebook News will continue in the other countries it’s currently in, and the shift in the U.S. won’t change the deals in those places — the U.K., France, Germany and Australia.

Russia to opt out of International Space Station after 2024
Russia will opt out of the International Space Station after 2024 and focus on building its own orbiting outpost, the country's newly appointed space chief said Tuesday.
Yuri Borisov, who was appointed earlier this month to lead the state-controlled space corporation Roscosmos, said during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia will fulfill its obligations to other partners at the International Space Station before it leaves the project.
“The decision to leave the station after 2024 has been made,” Borisov said.
Borisov's statement reaffirmed previous declarations by Russian space officials about Moscow's intention to leave the space outpost after 2024.
It comes amid soaring tensions between Russia and the West over the Kremlin's military action in Ukraine.
Despite the rift, NASA and Roscosmos made a deal earlier this month for astronauts to continue riding Russian rockets and for Russian cosmonauts to catch lifts to the International Space Station with SpaceX beginning this fall.

The agreement ensures that the space station will always have at least one American and one Russian on board to keep both sides of the orbiting outpost running smoothly, according to NASA and Russian officials. The swap had long been in the works and was finalized despite frictions over Ukraine in a sign of continuing Russia-U.S. cooperation in space.

NASA satellite breaks from orbit around Earth, heads to moon
A satellite the size of a microwave oven successfully broke free from its orbit around Earth on Monday and is headed toward the moon, the latest step in NASA’s plan to land astronauts on the lunar surface again.
It’s been an unusual journey already for the Capstone satellite. It was launched six days ago from New Zealand’s Mahia Peninsula by the company Rocket Lab in one of their small Electron rockets. It will take another four months for the satellite to reach the moon, as it cruises along using minimal energy.
Rocket Lab founder Peter Beck told The Associated Press it was hard to put his excitement into words.
Read: SpaceX launches 4 astronauts for NASA after private flight
“It’s probably going to take a while to sink in. It’s been a project that has taken us two, two-and-a-half years and is just incredibly, incredibly difficult to execute,” he said. “So to see it all come together tonight and see that spacecraft on its way to the moon, it’s just absolutely epic.”
Beck said the relatively low cost of the mission — NASA put it at $32.7 million — marked the beginning of a new era for space exploration.
“For some tens of millions of dollars, there is now a rocket and a spacecraft that can take you to the moon, to asteroids, to Venus, to Mars,” Beck said. “It’s an insane capability that’s never existed before.”
If the rest of the mission is successful, the Capstone satellite will send back vital information for months as the first to take a new orbit around the moon called a near-rectilinear halo orbit: a stretched-out egg shape with one end of the orbit passing close to the moon and the other far from it.
Eventually, NASA plans to put a space station called Gateway into the orbital path, from which astronauts can descend to the moon’s surface as part of its Artemis program.
Beck said the advantage of the new orbit is that it minimizes fuel use and allows the satellite — or a space station — to stay in constant contact with Earth.

The Electron rocket that launched June 28 from New Zealand was carrying a second spacecraft called Photon, which separated after nine minutes. The satellite was carried for six days in Photon, with the spacecraft’s engines firing periodically to raise its orbit farther and farther from Earth.
A final engine burst Monday allowed Photon to break from Earth’s gravitational pull and send the satellite on its way. The plan now is for the 25-kilogram (55-pound) satellite to far overshoot the moon before falling back into the new lunar orbit Nov. 13. The satellite will use tiny amounts of fuel to make a few planned trajectory course corrections along the way.
Beck said they would decide over the coming days what to do with Photon, which had completed its tasks and still had a bit of fuel left in the tank.
“There’s a number of really cool missions that we can actually do with it,” Beck said.
For the mission, NASA teamed up with two commercial companies: California-based Rocket Lab and Colorado-based Advanced Space, which owns and operates the Capstone satellite.

How to Use eSIM in Bangladesh?
eSIMs have been in Bangladesh for some time and function as a substitute for real SIM cards. There are several benefits to utilizing an eSIM as opposed to a traditional SIM card. Let’s check out the basics of eSIM technology. We will also discuss the compatible devices and eSIM activation process in Bangladesh.
What is an eSim?
Embedded-SIM, also known as eSIM, is a kind of SIM card that, instead of having to be physically inserted into a mobile phone, may instead be electronically encoded into the device. It performs the same functions as a conventional SIM card but does not need the use of a physical card. However, it is only compatible with gadgets that come with eSIM support already pre-installed.
eSIM functionality should be available on your smartphone then you can activate it immediately. However, eSIMs are not truly ubiquitous yet, and as a result, very few smartphones accept them.

How to purchase and activate eSIM in Bangladesh
Currently Grapmeenphone (GP) is providing the eSIM service in Bangladesh. Hopefully the other mobile phone network operators will offer this service very soon.
Choosing your plan is the first step in activating an electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) on GP in Bangladesh. This phase is relatively identical for users of both Android and iOS. Pick out a number for your cell phone. Finish the process of establishing your identity with biometrics.
Now, activate the internet connection that is included inside your phone. Perform a scan on the QR Code that is included on the SIM kit. Finally, proceed step-by-step in accordance with the instructions provided for your device.
Read Grameenphone brings eSIM for the first time in Bangladesh
You can also migrate your existing SIM into an eSIM. To convert your standard GP SIM card into an eSIM, you may either go to the GP Experience Center that is closest to you with an eSIM-enabled smartphone and complete the standard SIM purchase process, or you can go to the GP Online Shop and convert to an eSIM by following the procedures:
Request for eSIM migration. Finish the process of establishing your identity with biometrics. Now, activate the internet connection that is included inside your phone. Perform a scan on the QR Code that is included on the SIM kit. Proceed step-by-step in accordance with the instructions provided for your device.
Benefits of eSIM
The use of an eSIM makes it considerably simpler to change mobile network providers. It is possible to move to a different network without having to place an order for a new SIM card, wait for it to arrive, and then install it in your phone by making a phone call or going online. To take out the outdated SIM card from your phone, you won't even need to search for a "ejector tool" designed just for SIM cards.
Read OPPO partners with Thales for World’s First 5G SA-Compatible eSIM
One additional benefit of eSIMs is that the mobile manufacturers will soon eliminate the SIM card tray. The saved space can be utilized to expand the capacity of a phone's battery or add more functions to a device. The fewer holes in a phone, the better protection against dust and moisture, resulting in fewer possibilities of malfunctions.
Today conscious people around the world are praising environmentally friendly technologies. It is time for you to embrace the eco-friendly technology of eSIM cards. You can support the cause of environment preservation by switching to eSIM. Use of eSIMs can reduce the amount of electronic garbage that is produced by the used physical SIM cards.
Compatible Phones to Use eSIM in Bangladesh
The ability to use an eSIM is restricted to only a few advanced level Smartphone devices. To use eSIM in Bangladesh, you need to check out whether your phone is compatible with the eSIM technology.
Read Best Upcoming Phones in July 2022 in Bangladesh
The following Apple devices are compatible with eSIM: iPhone 13 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone SE, iPhone 11 series, iPhone XS, XS Max, iPhone XR, iPad Pro (11 inches and above), iPad Air (3rd and 4th generation), iPad (7th and 8th generation), iPad mini (5th generation)
Apart from them, a few Samsung phones also come with the eSIM compatibility. To name a few, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, latest Samsung Galaxy Fold series, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series, and Samsung Galaxy S20 series. Google Pixel phones are also eSIM supported.
Documents Are Required in The Process
Since the activation and the migration process have become biometric, people don’t need to bring any documents. However, it’s always advisable to take the NID card while going to a telecommunication service center.
Read Samsung Galaxy F13 Review: Is it a good budget phone?
Price
Due to the fact that eSIM makes use of foreign roaming services, which are available via any Bangladeshi mobile network provider, the fees for mobile data would be rather pricey. The additional cost is due to the fact that the price is incurred not only from the Bangladeshi operator but also from the overseas operator that is providing the eSIM assistance. The price of the eSIM will differ based on the offer and validity duration.
Conclusion
The electronic subscriber identity module, or eSIM, is a component of a mobile device. After activation, it enables the user to connect with the respective chosen mobile network operator without inserting a real SIM card. Devices like the latest Apple iPhones, Samsung, and Google Pixel are compatible with eSIM technology so far.
eSIM solution may save a significant amount of space in the sim tray slot of a smartphone. What’s more? Activating eSIM, you may effortlessly change mobile operator service without the inconvenience of obtaining a new SIM card. Furthermore, by choosing the eco-friendly eSIM technology, you can make the world a better and healthier place for life to flourish.
So far, we have discussed how to purchase and activate eSIM in Bangladesh. Stay with us to get more updates on eSIM.
