Kannada superstar Yash has finally unveiled the release date for his much-anticipated action film, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. The film is set to hit cinemas on March 19, 2026, setting up a major box office clash with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal.  Yash announced the release date via Instagram on Saturday, sharing a striking new poster. The image features him in an all-black outfit, wielding a gun while striding through a rain-soaked battlefield engulfed in flames. Priyanka Chopra becomes India’s highest-paid actress with Rs30cr fee Interestingly, Toxic will see Yash face off at the box office against his Ramayana co-star Ranbir Kapoor. Love & War, scheduled for release on March 20, 2026, remains shrouded in secrecy regarding its plot.  About the Project  Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic is being filmed in both Kannada and English to appeal to a wider global audience. It will also be dubbed in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and several other languages. In a case that has sent shockwaves through Hollywood and the global entertainment industry, director Carl Erik Rinsch has been arrested on charges of swindling Netflix out of $11 million (approximately Tk 121 crore) for a sci-fi series that never aired. Rinsch, who is best known for directing the 2013 film 47 Ronin, is facing charges of wire fraud and money laundering after allegedly misusing the funds meant for his unfinished show White Horse. The Allegations According to U.S. federal prosecutors, Netflix had initially paid around $44 million (Tk 484 crore) for the project. However, Rinsch later requested an additional $11 million (Tk 121 crore), claiming he needed the funds to complete the series. Instead of using the money for production, prosecutors allege that Rinsch diverted the funds into high-risk investments and luxury spending. Court documents reveal that Rinsch transferred a significant portion of the money into a personal brokerage account, where he made a series of unsuccessful investments, losing about half of the funds within two months. He then shifted the remaining amount into cryptocurrency investments, which turned out to be lucrative. However, rather than reinvesting in the production, Rinsch allegedly transferred the earnings into a personal bank account and embarked on an extravagant spending spree. Lavish Spending Spree The indictment details Rinsch’s alleged misuse of funds, including: ·         Tk 19.8 crore ($1.8 million) in credit card payments, ·         Tk 11 crore ($1 million) on legal fees to sue Netflix for more money, ·         Tk 40.7 crore ($3.7 million) on luxury furniture and antiques, ·         Tk 26.4 crore ($2.4 million) on a fleet of Rolls-Royces and a Ferrari, ·         Tk 7.2 crore ($652,000) on designer watches and clothing. Authorities arrested the 47-year-old filmmaker in West Hollywood on Tuesday. He is expected to appear in a federal court in California, while his indictment was filed in New York. Netflix’s Response Netflix has declined to comment on the allegations. However, the case has raised concerns over financial oversight and due diligence in Hollywood’s high-stakes entertainment industry.  

Warner Bros has revised its film release schedule, shifting the launch dates of several highly anticipated titles, including Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest project starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Now officially titled One Battle After Another, Anderson’s American crime thriller has been moved from August 8 to September 26. Insiders say the adjustment allows time for US cinemas to install VistaVision projection systems to match the director’s vision, according to Variety. Additionally, the new date positions the film closer to the awards season, a strategy that has benefited previous auteur-driven releases such as Gravity and A Star is Born. ‘Mickey 17’ targets $18M-$20M US debut, earns B CinemaScore The film stars DiCaprio alongside Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, Regina Hall, and Teyana Taylor. Additionally, Warner Bros Animation’s The Cat in the Hat, featuring Bill Hader and Quinta Brunson, will now arrive on February 27 next year, two weeks ahead of schedule.

The High Court on Wednesday directed the issuance of a certification for the film, The Remand, which is based on the anti-discrimination student movement. A HC bench of Justice Md Akram Hossain Chowdhury and Justice KM Rasheduzzaman Raja passed the order and issued a rule following a preliminary hearing of a writ petition. Lawyer Md Gias Uddin Chowdhury represented the petitioner in the court. Lawyer Gias Uddin said that the high court ordered the issuance of the certification certificate within three days. Earlier, the film's producer and director, Syed Belayet Hossain Belal, had filed a writ petition. The writ named the Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Vice Chairman, and the Deputy Director of the Bangladesh Film Certification Board as defendants. Directed by Ashrafur Rahman, The Remand features actors Zakia Bari Mamo, Parvez Abir Chowdhury, Salha Khanam Nadia, Lutfur Rahman George, and others. After completing production, the film was submitted to the Bangladesh Film Certification Board and previewed on December 30. However, the authorities have not granted permission for its screening, and despite sending two legal notices, no response has been received. Consequently, the petitioner filed the writ seeking a court order to release the film within three days. Producer Belal said that the film is a historical document that aims to preserve the memory of the heroic sacrifices made by students and the public during the July uprising. He explained that after the film's screening process was completed on December 30, the law mandates that any anti-state content must be notified within seven days. Since no letter or notification has been issued by the authorities and no discussions have taken place, he urged that the certification be granted immediately so the film can be released by the Film Certification Board.  

Following riots in Nagpur after protests against Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb's tomb, a curfew was imposed in the city. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured the public that authorities were managing the situation and noted that the recent Bollywood blockbuster Chhaava had stirred emotions against the Mughal ruler. This led to widespread criticism of the film and its team on social media, with many accusing director Laxman Utekar and lead actor Vicky Kaushal of inciting hatred against Aurangzeb and, by extension, minority communities.  On Twitter (now X), several users blamed Vicky for allegedly promoting ‘majoritarian hatred’ through the film. However, his fans quickly came to his defence, arguing that he was being unfairly targeted.  Supporters of the actor dismissed the criticism, asserting that an actor should not be held accountable for a film’s tone. “The outrage over Chhaava is misplaced! Vicky Kaushal’s brilliant portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj is a tribute to art. As liberals, we shouldn’t scapegoat actors for doing their jobs. Veteran filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, who has directed the Krrish franchise so far, has confirmed that he will not be helming the upcoming fourth instalment. Starring his son, Hrithik Roshan, the franchise has enjoyed consistent box office success. However, the question remains—who will take over as director? In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Rakesh Roshan shared his thoughts on stepping away from the director’s chair. He acknowledged that the time had come to pass on the responsibility, saying, “It is better that I do it while I am in my senses so that I can oversee the process and ensure it is being done correctly. If I wait too long and am no longer in control, I will not know what they are making.” A R Rahman hospitalised in Chennai Despite not directing Krrish 4, Rakesh Roshan expressed no disappointment. He said, “It is a risk we have to take. There is no guarantee that if I direct Krrish 4, it will be a blockbuster. It could go the other way as well.” He did not reveal the new director’s name but hinted at being involved in the film’s production. The Krrish franchise began with the 2003 sci-fi film Koi... Mil Gaya, which was followed by Krrish in 2006 and Krrish 3 in 2013. Hrithik Roshan has played the lead role in all instalments, with Priyanka Chopra starring alongside him in the last two. Former Australian cricketer David Warner is gearing up to make his first appearance in Telugu cinema. Taking to social media, Warner announced that he will have a cameo role in the upcoming film Robinhood, starring Nithiin and Sreeleela. He also shared a movie poster featuring his look, confirming that the film is scheduled for release on March 28. Warner has long been a fan of Telugu films, frequently posting viral reels featuring Telugu songs. His association with the region strengthened during his stint with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, where he captained the team to victory in 2016. Meanwhile, Warner recently weighed in on Australia's chances in the upcoming home Ashes series against England, asserting that the hosts are favorites. He expressed doubts about England’s aggressive ‘Bazball’ approach working on Australian pitches. Speaking to the media, as quoted by Wisden, Warner highlighted Australia's formidable bowling attack, led by captain Pat Cummins, alongside Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and spinner Nathan Lyon.
