Sargis Alam urges country’s people to protect the state property
Sargis Alam, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, has urged the country’s people to protect the state property.
He made the call in a status on Facebook.
Sargis said, “This freedom belongs to the people of Bangladesh. From this moment on, it is the responsibility of all of us to protect the country and its people's property. Because these are ours. “
Vandalism, arson attacks were carried out in different parts of the country after the fall of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government.

Sheikh Hasina meets India's NSA Ajit Doval near Delhi, may seek asylum in UK: Indian media

No political comeback for Sheikh Hasina, says son Sajeeb Wazed
Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy has said there will be no political comeback for his mother, saying she was “so disappointed.”
Speaking to Newshour on the BBC World Service, Joy, who was the ICT Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister until Monday, said his mother had been considering resigning since Sunday and had left the country for her own safety after her family insisted.
Defending his mother’s record in power, he said: “She has turned Bangladesh around. When she took over power it was considered a failing state. It was a poor country. Until today it was considered one of the rising tigers of Asia. She’s very disappointed.”
Joy rejected accusations that the government had been heavy-handed in dealing with protestors: “You’ve had policemen beaten to death – 13 just yesterday. So what do you expect the police to do when mobs are beating people to death?”

Miscreants break Sherpur district Jail, inmates escape
Miscreants stormed into the Sherpur District Jail, allowing 500 inmates to flee from the jail.
A mob equipped with sticks and local weapons brought out a procession amid curfew in the afternoon.
At one stage, they stormed into the jail at Damdama-Kaliganj area of the district town, breaking open the jail gate and setting fire.
77 officials including jail super, prison guards suspended over Narsingdi jail attack
Around 500 inmates managed to flee the jail.
The attack was carried out between 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm, said Deputy Commissioner of Sherpur district Abdullah Al Khairun.
Miscreants also torched different establishments and offices in the district.

Rampage at ATN Bangla office; ATN News off air
Angry mobs went on a rampage at ATN Bangla office in Dhaka’s Karwan Bazar, forcing the authorities concerned to take ATN News off air.
"Nothing is left in our office. Everything has been taken except tables," a senior reporter at ATN News told UNB. "We are safe and have left office," he added.
The attack was carried out just after the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Talking to UNB, Channel 24 Special Correspondent, G M Mostafizul Alam said their seven reporters were attacked.
Their two cameras, two microphones, tripods, and broadcast machines and two backpacks (live devices) were taken away.
He said four cars were also damaged.

Bangabandhu Museum, AL offices in Dhaka attacked
Hours after Sheikh Hasina's resignation on Monday, agitated locals set fire to the Bangabandhu Museum on Dhanmondi-32, once the residence of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Additionally, the Awami League president’s office at Dhanmondi-3 was also torched by angry crowds.
By 4 pm, protesters had set fire to the Dhaka district unit Awami League office. Shortly after, around 5 pm, Sudha Sadan in Dhanmondi, the residence of Dr. Wajed Miah, Sheikh Hasina’s late husband, was also set on fire and vandalized.
The Awami League central office on Bangabandhu Avenue was set ablaze shortly after 4 pm.
The residence of the Chief Justice on 19 Hare Road also came under attack from protesters.
