A 20-year-old youth who was injured during a dispute with a battery-run autorickshaw driver over a fare died in Sylhet on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Nazim Uddin (20) of Patni village of Rustumpur union of Gowainghat upazila in Sylhet.
The driver of the autorickshaw has been identified as Saleh Ahmed (55) of Baraghosa village of Rustumpur union of the upazila.

It is known that Nazim Uddin got down in front of Patni Private Primary School on Bangabir-Hadarpar Road around midnight and paid Tk 5 to Saleh Ahmed.
At that time, Saleh Ahmed demanded Tk 10 as a fare, and both of them got involved in an argument over it.
At one point, Saleh hit Nazim on the neck with the bamboo and fled the spot.

Later, Nazim's parents and relatives rescued him and took him to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment, where he died around 4:00 am on Wednesday.
Gowainghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) KM Nazrul Islam visited the spot with a police team.

Two teams of Gowainghat Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused. The body of the deceased was sent to the morgue, said the OC.
