Three children, including two sisters, drowned while bathing in a pond at Bashkait village of Cumilla's Muradnagar upazila on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Amena Khatun, 12, and Samia Akter, 6, daughters of Salam Mia, and Sadia Akter, 7, daughter of Kausar Mia of the same area.

Locals said the children went to take bath, but as they did not return soon, relatives started searching and found their bodies in the pond.

Muradnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Prabash Chandra Dhar said police got their details from the spot. They died while bathing.
