In a major crackdown, the Gulshan Division of the Detective Branch (DB) under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested three active members of a professional drug trafficking ring along with 6,000 yaba pills from the city"s Jatrabari area on Monday.
The bus used for transporting the illegal drugs was also seized in this connection.
The arrestees have been identified as Md. Shahabuddin (45), Md. Yad (25), and Md. Sohel Mia (32).

The operation was conducted on Monday morning at 10:05 AM in the Sayedabad area under Jatrabari Police Station.
According to DB sources, acting on a tip-off, a special team led by Assistant Police Commissioner Nazrul Islam of DB-Gulshan Division conducted a raid in the Sayedabad area, particularly near Khalpar Bridge intersection.
The detectives got a secret information that a group of drug traffickers would hand over a consignment of yaba pills using a bus.
During the raid, Shahabuddin, Yad, and Sohel were arrested with 6,000 yaba pills.
A mobile phone and the bus used for transporting the illegal substances were also seized, said DC media of DMP Talebur Rahman.
A case is currently being processed against the arrestees under the Narcotics Control Act at the Jatrabari Police Station.
During preliminary questioning, the arrestees admitted to being active members of a professional drug trafficking network.
They also confessed to sourcing yaba pills from different parts of the country and selling them in various areas of the capital.

The seized yaba pills were being prepared for sale and delivery when they were apprehended.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and efforts to arrest other members of the trafficking ring.
Further legal actions are underway against the detainees.
