DU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the corner through videoconferencing from a function at the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) on Thursday.
Awami League Presidium Member Abdur Rahman who attended the programme as the chief guest said, “It’s really a great initiative of Ducsu as it’ll help students know about the sacrifices of Bangabandhu for the nation and the country.”
Through the corner, students can easily know about the unknown facts about Bangabandhu which will inspire them to lead an ideal life, he added.
Presided over by Ducsu Liberation War Affairs Secretary Saad Bin Kader Chowdhury, renowned historian Prof Dr Syed Anwar Husain, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) President Al Nahiyan Khan Joy, BCL DU unit President Sonjit Chandra Das and General Secretary Saddam Hussain, among others, addressed the programme.
The corner contains shelves with 50 books on Bangabandhu's life and works and history of the Liberation War at each dormitory.
The number of books will gradually be increased, said Saad Bin Kader.
