The Biswa Ijtema, billed as the second largest congregation of Muslims after Hajj, will be held in two phases on February 02 to February 04 and on February 09 to February 11 next year.

The first phase of ijtema will begin on February 2 and end on February 4. Followers of Maulana Jobair will take part in the phase.

The second phase of ijtema will begin on February 9 and will run until February 11. Followers of Maulana Saad of India will participate in the phase.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said this after a meeting held at the Secretariat on Wednesday.

"We have seen that the ijtema was divided into two parts. Every time they can't decide who to do first and who to do later, then they come to us,” he said.

Kamal said we asked them to be united but as they couldn't agree with each other, we directed them to do it the same way last time.

Mentioning that a detailed meeting will be held on how the foreigners will come to the ijtema, the minister said whatever is required, the divisional commissioner, police commissioner, secretary and others will sit and decide.

The minister said that the decisions regarding ijtema that are still unresolved will be resolved through talks after the election, he added.

State Minister for Religious Affairs Faridul Haque Khan, State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell, Gazipur City Corporation Mayor Zaida Khatun, former Gazipur City Corporation Mayor Jahangir Alam and senior law enforcement officials were present at the meeting.
