The minister was addressing as the chief guest a discussion arranged by BSTI at its auditorium, marking the 50th World Standards Day.

He spoke about the theme of the World Standards Day 2019 -- ‘Video standards create a global stage -- and mentioned that it had a positive impact in the country.
“Over the past decade, the quality of industrial management underwent positive changes in Bangladesh due to the use of video technology in compliance with international standards,” said the minister.
He warned BSTI officials that action will be taken against those who will show negligence or get involved in any immoral activity. “The government won’t accept any negligence in carrying out BSTI’s assigned duties,” he added.
Nurul Majid urged the officers and employees of all levels of BSTI to act with professionalism, integrity, sincerity and patriotism.
BSTI Director General Md Muazzem Hossain also spoke at the programme with Salahuddin Mahmud, Additional Secretary of the Industries Ministry, in the chair.
