The minister came up with the remarks at a video conference with health officials of upazila and district levels from the conference room of Directorate General of Health Services in the afternoon.
“The fight of physicians and nurses, implementation of pre-planned steps in the health sector and people’s self-awareness by following the government's directions prevented the situation from taking a serious turn," the minister said.
The country recorded less cases after 44 days compared to Italy, France and America thanks to right decision at the right time, he said.
“We'll be able to restrict the pandemic, if we can sustain the present ratio of infection for the next few days,” Maleque said.
Meanwhile, ten more people died from coronavirus in Bangladesh in the last 24 hours till Wednesday, taking the death toll in the country to 120.

Besides, 390 more people tested positive for coronavirus during the period, raising the number of such cases in the country to 3,772.
