The mortality rate stood at 1.46 percent, the Directorate General of Health Services said.
Besides 1,367 new cases pushed the caseload to 504,868.
With 2,416 new recoveries, 444,345 patients - 88.01 percent – have recovered so far.
Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8. The infection number reached the 300,000-mark on August 26. The first death was reported on March 18 and the death toll exceeded 7,000 on December 12.
Until now, 3,122,426 tests have been carried out, including 15,896 new ones. So far, 16.17 percent of the tests turned out to be positive.

Bangladesh is seeing 2,964.47 infections, 2,609.09 recoveries and 43.21 deaths per million, the DGHS said.
The government has been warning of a second wave of Covid-19 in winter and urging people to properly follow health safety measures. It has adopted a ‘no mask, no service’ policy.

On Monday, the government announced that the country would get Covid-19 vaccines for some 45 million people by May-June next year.
“We’ll get 30 million doses for 15 million people at the end of January or early February next year. Sixty million more doses for 30 million people will arrive by May-June,” Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam told the media.

Covid-19 Global Situation
The number of globally confirmed Covid-19 cases neared 78 million on Wednesday with 1,715,945 fatalities, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University (JHU).
The total caseload reached 77,958,369 in the morning.

In the US, the number of Covid-19 cases topped 18,217,390 with 322,589 fatalities.
US Covid-19 cases hit 17 million on Dec 17, and added 1 million in four days.
In India, the coronavirus death mounted to 146,111 while the total caseload reached 10,075,116.

Brazil's Covid-19 death toll reached 188,259 after 968 more patients died from coronavirus, the country's ministry of health reported on Tuesday.
