The Detective Branch (DB) of the DMP alongside the local police stations carried out the simultaneous drive starting at 6am on Saturday.
A total of 9,933 Yaba tablets, 163 grams heroin, 11.110 kg hemp and 10 bottles of Phensidyl were recovered from the arrestees’ possession, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Walid Hossain.
He said a total of 28 cases were filed with different police stations under the Narcotics Control Act over the arrest and drug recovery.
Among the recovered drugs, 6500 pieces of Yaba pills were recovered from Banasree area under Khilgaon Police station by the DB (Lalbagh Division) during the time.
The detectives also arrested three alleged drug traders identified as Md Abdul Aziz, 22, Md Maruf, 28, and Batasi Begum, 28.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrested drug traders confessed that they used to bring the contraband drug item from frontiers and then supply those to various areas in the capital.
A case was filed with Khilgaon police station.
Among the arrestees, Aziz and Maruf are being interrogated by the DB under one day remand given by the court on Sunday.
