Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in separate drives arrested 57 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in the capital in 24 hours till 6 am on Wednesday. During the drives, 45,743 contraband yaba pills, 559 grams of  heroin, 98.675 grams of hemp and 78 bottles of contraband Phensidyle were recovered from the possessions of the arrestees. As part of the DMP’s regular anti-drug drives, Detective Branch (DB) and teams from local police stations launched drives in various areas in the capital from 6 am Tuesday to 6 am on Wednesday and recovered the drugs. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in separate drives arrested 60 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in the capital in 24 hours till 6 am on Thursday. During the drives, 4,955 contraband yaba pills, 580 grams of heroin, 75 bottles of contraband Phensidyle and 56.415 kg of cannabis were recovered from the possessions of the arrestees. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 42 people during its ongoing anti-narcotics drive in the capital in 24 hours till 6am on Thursday. Police have arrested 58 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs. Police arrested them conducting anti-narcotics drives in different areas of the capital in 24 hours since 6:00 am on Monday. During the drives, 2269 yaba pills, 34 grams of heroin, 17.878 kgs cannabis and seven bottles of contraband phensidyl syrup were recovered from the possessions of the arrestees. Members of Detective Branch (DB) under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and police of different police stations have arrested 74 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs. Police arrested them conducting anti-narcotics drives in different areas of the capital in 24 hours till 6am on Thursday. During the drives, 32,575 contraband yaba tablets, 25.5 grams of heroin, 5.185 kg cannabis, 13.5 litres of locally made liquor and 54 bottles of phensedyl were recovered from their possession. A law enforcer was shot near Rayerbazar Police Outpost in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur during an anti-drug drive on early Thursday.
