The ‘Dhaka University Sangskritik Sangsad Boshonto Utshob 1425’ was held at TSC. Vice-Chancellor Dr Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the event.
“Every nation’s most powerful reflection is its cultural activities. The more we’ll keep ourselves connected with it, the more the spirit of Liberation War, secularity, humanity, liberal moral values will spread among us,” he said.
In his speech as special guest, Biplob Barua, the special assistant to prime minister, said, “Not many university students across the globe hold close the spirit of spring like ours.”
Dhaka University Cultural Society (DUCS) gave lifetime achievement award to Lucky Inam, Sharmila Bandapadhyay and Dr Vashwar Bandapadhyay.
The daylong event hosted monkey show, puppet dance, merry go round, cockfight, puthipath, kirton and various other cultural events.
Various musical bands also performed during the festival.
The fest is co-hosted by Cool, Guardian Life Insurance Company, Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and Dhaka University Alumni Association.
