He gave the directives during discussion on a report placed by the international consultancy firm KPMG on human resource development and efficiency improvement of the power sector through videoconference from his residence with top officials of Power Division and its subordinate bodies.
He also suggested the officials to take help from the reputed international companies working in the power sector like Siemens, GE and ABB to train up the manpower.
The virtual meeting was attended by Power Secretary Dr Sultan Ahmed, BPDB Chairman Md Belayet Hossain, BREB Chairman Major Gen (Retd) Moin Uddin, Power Cell Director General Mohammad Hossain and managing directors of different companies.
The KPMG prepared the report on different information of 14 entities in power sector, which was placed in the meeting by the Power Cell.
The report focused on manpower, efficiency enhancement, management strategy and organisational development aiming at equitable development of power sector.
The power sector entities should draw a plan assessing its needs of technical and non-technical manpower, he said.
