Police have arrested former Krishak League president and former panel mayor of Alamdanga Municipality Samsad Ranu in connection with the assault of the headmaster of Alamdanga Government High School in Chuadanga.
Robiul Islam, the headmaster of the school, filed the case at Alamdanga Police Station in this regard on Wednesday afternoon.

The accused Samsad Ranu was arrested from the Ershad Pur Chatha intersection in the municipality area around 8:00 pm on Wednesday, Alamdanga Police Station OC Biplab Kumar Nath said.
According to witnesses, Samsad Ranu’s son is a class-seven student at Alamdanga Government High School. Today was his exam. However, students of classes six and seven including Ranu’s son were waiting on the school grounds in the scorching heat, as their exam was delayed for the ongoing half-yearly examination of class eight and class 10 students.

Later, when Headmaster Robiul Islam reached the school, AL leader Samsad Ranu -- also known as Ranga Bhabi -- rushed to him and grabbed him by his shirt and physically assaulted him, they said.
"What happened is very humiliating," said the headmaster. “I was shocked. The president of the school and the Upazila Nirbahi Officer called me after the incident. I filed a case at the police station in the afternoon after consulting with them.”
