A Dhaka court on Tuesday acquitted former MP Golam Faruk Ovi in a case over the murder of model Syeda Tania Mahbub Tinni in 2002.
Judge of the Dhaka Second Additional District and Session Judge Shahinur Akter passed the order as allegations brought against the Jatiya Party leader could not be proved.
Advocate Syed Md Abu Zafar Rizvi, a state counsel, expressed dissatisfaction over the court order. “Decision for filing an appeal petition will be taken after seeing the full text of the verdict.”
Ovi remains absconding in the case.
