German Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Fahrenholtz and Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Faruque Hassan discussed trade-related issues on Sunday.
They discussed the progress of current projects between BGMEA and German development agency GIZ and also on possible avenues of collaboration between Germany and Bangladesh to facilitate further development of Bangladesh’s apparel industry, especially in the area of sustainability.

Fahrenholtz praised the RMG industry’s strides in sustainability as the country has the highest number of green garment factories in the world.
BGMEA President Faruque thanked the Ambassador for Germany’s support for the development of the Bangladesh RMG industry.

Constanza Zahringer, Deputy Head of Mission, the Embassy of Germany was also present during the meeting at BGMEA office.
