Kapasia Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ismat Ara said, “We are still clueless about the collapse and awaiting experts’ opinion after sending the details to them.”

The locals heard a loud noise and felt a tremor at around 2am on Friday. Later they saw that a large area including Kapasia-Sreepur road had fallen at least 10 feet deep from its previous position.

Now 12 households in the area are at risk of landslides. The same place had also collapsed in 1964, 2003 and 2018.
