“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions,” the Met Office said in a bulletin.
Rangpur, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions may also see light to moderate rain while some parts of the country will likely be hit by moderately heavy falls.
The day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, the Met Office said.
A low has formed over the northwest Bay and adjoining North Odisha, and Gangetic West Bengal. The monsoon axis runs through Rajsthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Assam across the central part of Bangladesh.
One of its associated troughs extends up to the northeast Bay, said the Met Office, noting that monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and strong elsewhere over the North Bay.
Rainfall activity is likely to continue over the next five days.
Today’s maximum temperature 36.1 degree Celsius was recorded in Sylhet while the lowest (24.5C) was recorded at Teknaf.
The highest rainfall of 44mm was recorded in Dinajpur.
