State Minister for Labour and Employment Munnujan Sufian on Monday directed all industry owners to pay the salary of March to their workers within April 16.
“Legal action will be taken if any owner fails to follow the directive,” she said in a statement on Monday.
The government declared general holidays to tackle the spread of coronavirus, bringing economic activities to almost a halt.

State Minister Munnujan urged the workers to stay at their homes following the government’s directive.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh on Sunday recorded the highest number of coronavirus cases in one day as 139 more people tested positive for the virus, raising the total number to 621.
Besides, four more people died from the virus during the period which has raised the total death toll to 34 while the global death toll from coronavirus reached 114,247 on Monday morning.
