A prisoner died while undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) on Saturday noon.
The deceased was identified as Ariful Islam, 41, son of late Abdul Hamid of Rajapara area of the city.
Gias Uddin, senior jail super of Rajshahi Central Jail, said Ariful was serving jail term in a drugs case. He had been suffering from tuberculosis and died at RMCH around 1pm.
The body will be handed over to family after completing legal process, the official added.
