Maj Talukder Nazmus Shakib, Rab Company Commander, informed this at a press briefing at Rab-11 CPC-2 office on Monday.
The human traffickers and the Rohingyas were detained during special drives at Dhorkora bazar and Cheora area of Chowddogram upazila.
After detention of the three members of the human trafficking gang, a huge number of fake passports, and fake birth certificates for making fake passports were recovered. Papers and three computers used for making fake certificates were also recovered.
Besides, two printers, one scanner, seven cellphones and Tk 60,540 were also recovered.
The three human traffickers are – Md Abdur Rahim Rubel, 25, son of late Abul Kalam of Kapor Chotli area of the upazila, Nurul Haq, 29, son of Fazlul Haq and Faisal Ahmed Rony, 32, son of Md Kamal Uddin of Dimatoli area.
The three Myanmarese displaced citizens (Rohingya) were caught up with the traffickers out of desperation. They include one under-aged woman and two men.
Police identified the men among them as Md Zahed Hossain, 25, son of Mohammad Amir Hossain, of Tangali Rohingya camp-19 who came in the same year, and Md Rafiq, 37, son of Md Hakim Sharif, of Ukhiya Kutupalong Rohingya Camp-C/3. The identity of the under-aged woman of Balukhali Panbazar Rohingya camp-18 who entered into Bangladesh in 2017 has been withheld.
Maj Talukder Nazmus Shakib, Rab Company Commander of Rab-11 CPC-2, Cumilla further informed that the accused were bringing the Rohingyas from various Cox’s Bazar camps to different places including Cumilla for trafficking them abroad alluring them in many ways.
