The elite force members seized the narcotics from the capital’s Mohammadpur and Shyamoli.
Tipped off, a team of RAB-2 conducted a raid in front of Islami Bank Bangladesh’s Shyamoli Branch at around 4:15pm and arrested Md Erfan, 20.

The team recovered 7,900 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets while searching Erfan, RAB-2 Assistant Director (Media) ASP Abdullah Al Mamun said.
“Earlier in the day, another operational team of the same battalion carried out a drive in front of Palash Pharmacy of Allah Karim Masjid Market under Mohammadpur Police Station at around 7:10am.”

The law enforcers nabbed Md Babul Shah, 35, from the spot.
Babul was trying to flee the scene, sensing danger. He was carrying 250 bottles of Phensidyle, an addictive cough syrup, in two plastic sacks.

Two separate cases were filed with local police stations in connection with the incidents.
On December 6, the detectives arrested a 19-year-old Shakil along with 27,600 Yaba pills from Malibagh’s Chowdhurypara in the city.

Tipped off, a team of the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Shakil along with Yaba pills.
On November 30, the detectives arrested three people with 50,000 pieces of Yaba pills from the capital’s Jatrabari area. The arrestees bought the drugs from Cox’s Bazar.
