Light to moderate rain, thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty, squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Sylhet, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country in the next 24 hours since 6pm.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) made the forecast in a regular bulletin.
About the synoptic situation, the BMD said the low over Northwest Bay and adjoining Odisha-West Bengal Bangladesh coast moved westwards and now lies over Chhattisgarh and adjoining area.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, the centre of the low and thence northeastwards to Assam across West Bengal and Central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated trough extends up to North Bay, it added.
The bulletin also said Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country during the period.
