Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Saturday forecast light to moderate rain, thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind for most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, in the next 24 hours since 6 pm.
The same was forecast for many places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country, said a weather bulletin.
About synoptic situation, the BMD said the axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay, it added.
During the period, day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.
