Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique said 16 gold bars were seized from Jiten Dhar, brother of Dwijen Dhar who got mugged four days ago.
On December 21, Dwijen bought 17 gold bars from Feni and took those to his brother Jiten’s house in Rajshahi’s Puthia.

The mugging happened on early December 22 when the brothers were carrying the gold bars to Rajshahi city to sell those to a jewellery shop.

While they were walking along the Bhadra intersection, four motorcycle riders stopped them, identifying themselves as “administration officials.”
And they took away the bag containing the gold bars from Jiten.

Dwijen later filed a case with Boalia Model Police Station over the incident against six people including Jiten.
Also, the police visited the crime scene and reviewed CCTV footage.
On December 25, they interrogated the prime accused Jiten, and he admitted planning and staging the mugging.
Police recovered 16 gold bars from Jiten’s house. However, he managed to sell one bar to a jewellery shop in Natore for Tk6.67 lakh.
