Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Monday arrested a suspected gold smuggler along with 20 gold bars worth Tk 1.63 crore from Poura Park area in the district town.
The arrestee is Imdadul Islam, son of Aslam Hossain of Kagajpukur village in Benapole.

Tipped off, a team of BGB-49 conducted a drive and arrested Imdadul along with 20 gold bars, said Commanding officer of BGB-49, Lieutenant colonel Selim Reza.
Imdadul was handed over to Jashore Kotwali Police station.
