A Chattogram court sentenced a Rohingya drug smuggler to six years rigorous imprisonment.
The court also fined him Tk 5,000 and an additional six months jail term in default.

Fourth Additional Chattogram Metropolitan Sessions Judge Shariful Alam Bhuiya passed the order on Wednesday.
Accused Md. Syed Alam, 20, is a Rohingya citizen of Myanmar. He is the son of Rustam Ali of A-block at Leda refugee camp in Teknaf.
Bench Assistant Omar Fuad confirmed the verdict.
According to court sources, he was arrested on December 4, 2018 in front of the Municipal Shopping Complex-2 in Kotwali. At that time police recovered 1,650 pieces of yaba from him.

Tapan Kanti Sharma, sub-region inspector of Chattogram Metro Narcotics Control Department, filed a case at Kotwali Police Station.
At present, accused Syed Alam, out on bail, has been absconding.
